The board of commissioners I Tuesday adopted the resolution fix- ling the date. Mrs. Scism, David Dellinger and Charles Murdock of Asheville, a represetative of the food chain, were in the audience. Murdock spoke during the citi- zen recognition portion of the regu- lar meeting. "We are excited about the Oak Grove-Scism Road location be- cause we feel it's paramount to be close to the people who shop and it's in close proximity to residential areas," he said. Murdock said the company has responded to concerns of residents in the Gold Run community and feel the company has satisfied the questions in the design of the store and lighting, buffers, and proximi- ty to the development. Firemen to participate in exercise Kings Mountain Fire Department, the Cleveland County Emergency Management Office, the county's HASMET team and the Cleveland County Red Cross Chapter will participate in the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant emergency exercise March 12. A shelter will be set up at the Kings Mountain High School and fire department personnel will take the overflow of people normally responding in the event of a real accident. As part of the exercise, sirens in the 10-mile emergency planning zone around the plant at York County, SC will sound on the morning of March 12.
