PT a et a a Yat oat ats Foi a Dra tt sey oy Bands to perform Monday at 7:30 The Kings Mountain High School Ninth Grade and Kings Mountain High School Blazer Band will present a concert of their state contest festival music Monday at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The Ninth Grade Band, under the direction of Gil R. Doggett, will perform Grade V music. Their selections are "Mr. Joe March" by Bennett, '"'The Pearl Fishers Overture'' by Bizet and "Mayflower Overture by Ron Nelson. The Blazer Band, under the di- rection of Chris Cole, will perform Grade VI music. They will perform "A Slavic Farewell" by Agapkin, "American Salute' by Morton Gould and '"Mannes Veen" by Hayden Wood. Awards Day slated at KM High School Kings Mountain High School's annual Awards Day program will be held Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at B.N. Barnes Auditorium. Prior to this school year, the Awards Day program was held in the morning on a regular school day. The change to night is in re- sponse to the school's block sched- ule and to make the program more convenient for parents. Persons wanting to present a scholarship or award are to contact either Dianne Hollifield or Anita Campbell to make arrangements. The general public is invited to attend the program. Birthday party set for American Legion American Legion Auxiliary Unit 155 will host the annual American Legion birthday party Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Building. Easter egg program at KM State Park "Eggs of Many Colors" will be held Saturday, April 6 at the Living History Farm at Kings Mountain State Park. Participants will discover differ- ent Easter traditions, make an Easter craft and learn how to dye eggs naturally. The program is de- signed for ages 3 and older.
