A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Samu Lee and Novella Haynes M He was retired from Foote Min Company, Kings Mountain, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a former volunteer fireman with the Kings Mountain and Oak Grove fire departments. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Tindall McKee of Kings Mountain; a son, Andrew McKee of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Patricia Canipe of Kings Mountain; and a brother, Foche McKee of Floral City, Fla. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Claude McIntosh Monday at il a.m. at David Baptist Church. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. KATHLEEN DOVER GROVER - Kathleen Moody "Kitty" Dover, 68, of 1053 Cleveland Ave., died April 4, 1996. She was the wife of Horace Cleatus "Ted" Dover and a retired employee of Fiber Industries. She was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church. A native of Waynesville, she was the daughter of the late Hillard and Rosa Lee Wilkinson Moody. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, James H. Bradshaw of Pasadena, TX and Teddy Dover Jr. of Shelby; two daughters, Annette Hardin of Grover and Cathy Powell of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Jacqueline Haynes and Roberta Haynes, both of Waynesville; eight grandchil- dren; and one great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted April 6 at 1 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Lowery and Rev. Doug Allen officiated. Burial was in the Grover Cemetery. WALDT Louise Thompson Waldt, 72, of White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, died April 7, 1996 at White Oak Manor. A native of Walhalla, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Cobb Thompson and wife of the late Marshall G. Waldt. She was also preceded in death by a son, Freddie Waldt. She was a Baptist and a retired State Park employee. She is survived by her son, Marshal L. Waldt of Kings Mountain; a brother, Charles K. Thompson of Walhalla, SC; a sis-. ter, Sarah T. Bynum of Mountain Rest, SC; a grandson, Jon Christopher Waldt of Kings Mountain; a granddaughter, Michelle W. Merrill of Kings Mountain; a great-grandson, Trey Merrill of Kings Mountain; and two step-granddaughters, Denise Abbott of New York, NY, and Monica Neelands of Charleston, SC. Guyton, 75, 1063 Barnett Drive, Kings Mountain, died April 7, 1996 at Kings Mountain Hospital. : A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Frances Cobb Guyton. She was a retired textile employee. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A graveside service was con- ducted by the Revs. James Hamrick and Bill Guiton Tuesday at 3 p.m .at Mountain Rest Cemetery. EUGENE A. HILL SR. MONCKS CORNER, SC - Eugene Aiken Hill Sr., 111 Carolina Avenue, died Sunday in a Moncks Corner hospital. A native of Moncks Corner, he was the son of W. Calvin and Eunice Love Hill. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired master electrician and owner of Gene's Electric. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Moncks Corner, was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Moncks Corner Lions Club. He was a grad- uate of Berkeley High School and attended Atlantic Christian College. He is survived by his wife, Sue Melton Hill; his mother, Eunice Love Hill of Albemarle; a daugh- ter, Karen Hill-Bass of Cordesville; two sons, Eugene A. Hill II and Timothy W. Hill of Cordesville; a sister, Betty H. Kelly of Charleston Heights; a brother, Aubrey M. Hill of Hanahan; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. GIRLEEN H. CRONAN INDEPENDENCE, Ky - Mrs. Minnie Belle Cronan, 73, died March 27,. 1996 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a retired spinner for the textile industry. Cronan of Cleves, Ohio and Ernest Cronan of Somerville, NJ; two daughters, Connie Hatfield of Independence, Ky. and Linda Bennett of Statesville; one sister, Mary Stewart of Kings Mountain; one half-sister, Betty Patterson of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Coy Fredell and Roy Fredell, both of Kings Mountain; eight grandchil- dren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Olsen was preparing to go out to eat with her family after Easter church services when she suffered the stroke. The funeral service was held Wednesday at Saint Stephens Episcopal Church. Even on his lunch hour they can find him in the library poring over work on a computer or playing solitaire. Clayton was tapped as Student of the Month for March and his teachers call him most deserving of the honor. Although mathematics is Corwin's favorite subject, he reads at school and at home and there's no question that he will pursue a higher education. Son of Debra Tunstall Clayton of Kings Mountain and Ricky Clayton of Louisiana, Corwin has two older brothers at Kings Mountain High School. Obbie is a 10th grader and Ricky is a senior. "Corwin is a good student, inter- ested, motivated, cooperative, pleasant, and participates in class and is always in school with per- fect attendance," says Julia W. Hunt, English teacher. Donovan, ABB Combustion Engineering executive vice-president for the American re- gion and president and CEO of ABB Inc. in the United States which includes a Kings Mountain plant, is presumed dead in the crash last Wednesday of a U. S. military plane near Dubrovnik, Croatia. Local officials at the Kings Mountain Plant of ABB were sad- dened by the tragic event. The plane was carrying U. S. Commerce Secretary Ron Brown and a delegation of U. S. business leaders on a trade mission to the Balkans. The mission was investi- gating ways to help rebuild the war-battered region infrastructure. Donovan, 54, had assumed his most recent responsibilities in January 1994, following more than 20 years in the international electri- cal engineering industry.
