MICHAEL CLARK JAMES (Jacqueline Michelle Lineberger) Lineberger-James Stowe Manor in Belmont was the setting April 27 for the 1 p.m. wedding uniting Jacqueline Michelle Lineberger and Michael Clark James. Rev. Strad Shivley officiated the ceremony for which Toni Syorud of Pineville sang "Evergreen" and "Household of Faith". The bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride's gown was designed by Jasmin of white taffeta featuring an off-shoulder bodice appliqued with hand- sewn sequins and pearls and a long skirt which extend- ed into a Cathedral train. Her fingertip veil of illusion was draped from a Camelot cap and she carried a bou- quet of summer flowers. Angie Alexander of Charlotte was her sister's matron of honor and bridesmaids were Sue Lineberger of Matthews, aunt of the bride; Jennifer James of Charlotte, sister of the bridegroom; Jennifer Wells, Lynn Hicks and Sharon Lemon, all of Charlotte. All the attendants wore long silk gowns by Alfred Angelo designed with off-shoulder bodices. They car- ried bouquets of summer flowers. Rob Stamper of Lake Wylie, SC was the bride- groom's best man. Groomsmen were Terry Mauney, Terry James Jr, brother of the bridegroom, Craig Swan and Clint Davis, nephew of the bridegroom, all of Charlotte, and Larry Lineberger Jr. of Kings Mountain, brother of the bridegroom. All the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black vests and white shirts and black bow ties. The bridegroom's nephew Ean James and the ‘bride's niece, Stephanie Alexander, were ringbearers, Ean wore an all-white suit and Stephanie wore a long ' white gown and a ring of baby's breath in her hair. The bride's nieces, Sarah Alexander and Rachel Alexander of Charlotte were flower girls. They wore long white dresses with short white gloves and rings of baby's breath in their hair. Margaret Stevenson of Birmingham, Ala., aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Phillip Shirah, the bride's uncle, was DJ for the reception which followed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lineberger Sr. of Kings Mountain and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Shirah of Charlotte and Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Lineberger of Matthews. She is a 1989 graduate of Olympic High School in Charlotte and is employed as a loan officer at First Funding Mortgage Corporation in Charlotte. The bridegroom is the son of Martha James of Matthews and Terry James Sr. of Charlotte. He is a 1985 graduate of Olympic High School in Charlotte and owns and operates Mike's Custom Paint & Body Shop in Pineville. The bridegroom's mother hosted the rehearsal din- ner April 26 at Stowe Manor. Barbecue with all the trimmings was served. A miscellaneous bridal shower was hosted by the bride's sister, Angela Alexander, at T-Bones on The Lake April 14. Fifty friends and family members showered the bride and bridegroom with gifts. The newlyweds have returned from a Caribbean Cruise to Haiti, Jamaica, The Bahamas, The Virgin Islands and Mexico and are residing in Charlnatta Huskins announce birth of daughter Breanna Marie Huskins was born February 27, 1996 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She weighed seven pounds, five ounces and was 19 inches long. Parents are Jimmy and Carolyn Huskins of Bethlehem Road. Maternal grandparents are Herman and Nancy Ernst. Paternal grand- parents are Jimmy and Nona Huskins. Great-grandparents are Daisy Woodward and Gertrude Davis. Great-great-grandparent is Hennrietta Ernst. ; She is the niece of Sara Mae, Israel, Josh and Marie Huskins, and Junior Ernst. She also has a cousin, Zachery Dyllan Hayes COUNTRYTIME INN MRS. MICHAEL JOHN McHALE McGinnis-McHale Resurrection Lutheran Church was the setting April 20 for the 5 p.m. candlelight wedding of Patricia Lynn McGinnis and Michael John McHale. Rev. Paul V. Abbe officiated the ceremony for which Mrs. Betty Anne Deal was organist and Chip McGill was vocal soloist. McGill sang Barnby's "O Perfect Love." Christopher Lee Bennett was Cross bearer and Benjamin Paul Sabetti was acolyte. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal wedding gown of ivory silk. The bodice of the gown was accentuated with handbeaded pearls and sequins. The full silk skirt was enhanced by a bow with sequins. The fingertip veil of rolled edge illusion was attached to a spray of ivory satin rosettes, se- quined leaves and pearl spray. She carried a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and assorted greenery. Ashley Elizabeth McGinnis of Kings Mountain was her sister's maid of honor and bridesmaids were Kimberly McGinnis Spicer of Kings Mountain, sister of the bride, and Liza Blanton Dellinger of Kings Mountain. All the attendants wore full length iris colored dresses and carried bouquets of white roses, purple irises and greenery. Flower girl was Kassey Colleen McHale. Best man for the bridegroom was Joel Henry Green of Fredonia, NY. Ushers were Robert Murray Pelsher and Kevin Patrick McHale, both of Hornell, New York, and David McHale of Gunnison, Colorado. Timothy Shane McHale was ringbearer. Anne Elizabeth Campbell was register attendant and Emily Meredith Campbell was program attendant. Karla Russell Bennett directed the wedding. The bride's parents entertained after the ceremony at a reception at The City Club in Gastonia. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal din- ner April 19 at Kings Mountain Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. John Byron McGinnis of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride. A 1986 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, she is a 1990 graduate of Appalachian State University and is employed as a Certified Public Accountant with Nations Bank in Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Paul Henkle McGinnis and the late Mr. McGinnis and Mr. and Mrs. Belvin Lassiter Strickland. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond John McHale of Hornell, New York and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael McHale and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howe. He is 1986 gradu- ate of Hornell Senior High School and is employed by BellSouth Communications. The newlyweds have returned from a wedding trip to Aruba and are residing in Concord. Todd Reynolds, pastor of Bessemer City First Wesleyan Church, and Rev. Don Williams, pastor of Kings Mountain First Wesleyan Church, officiated the ceremony. Tommy Russol was organist, Mary Pressley was pi- anist, Summer Crisp was trumpeter, and Jada Brown, Cale McDaniel and Preston Brown were vocalists for the program of nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Best men for the bridegroom were J. C. Hill and Tracy Bolin. Angela O'Brian was matron of honor. C. and Elizabeth Hill of Kings Mountain and the late Charles Bolin. He is a 1988 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a 1994 graduate of Central Wesleyan College. JAMES ALEXANDER ..celebrate Golden Wedding D Alexanders honored April 28 on their Golden Wedding Day James and Marjorie Alexander celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception hosted by their children April 28 at Central United Methodist Church. The Alexanders were married April 23, 1946 at Landers Chapel Methodist Church. They have two daughters, Libby Putnam and Janet Edwards, both of Kings Mountain, and six grandchildren. Marjorie Alexander is retired from Eaton Corporation. Jim Alexander is employed with Lutz Oil Company. Students to hear Harp Ensemble The Blue Ridge Harp Ensemble will perform for Cleveland County students May 23-24. The group consisting of six harpists is directed by Lelia Lattimore. Other members are Judy Wolter-Bailey, Anne Hollingsworth, Joan Johnson, Carroll Ownbey and Dottie Vaniman. The ensemble will perform May 22 at 10’ a.m. at West Elementary School in Kings Mountain, and at 1:30 p.m. at Union Elementary. They will perform on May 23 at Township Number Three School at 10 a.m., and at Jefferson Elementary at 1:30 p.m. The residency is co-sponsored by the Cleveland County ARts Council along with Kings Mountain Schools, Shelby City Schools and Cleveland County Schools. It is part of the ARts Council's Arts in Education program which brings touring and perform- ing artists into all three county school systems. The Blue Ridge Harp Ensemble began performing in the Asheville area in 1989. Since that time the group has, appeared regularly at Bele Chere and Asheville First Night Celebrations, Christmas at the Biltmore House and various church programs and weddings. They performed at the Arts Center in Shelby twice last year. The ensemble of six plays on concert pedal harps. Several are professionals, some are teachers and some are adult students. All share a common love of music, the harp and the fellowship of making harp music. Arts Extravaganza set Sunday The Cleveland County Arts Council will host an Arts Extravaganza Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Arts Center, 111 S. ‘Washington St., Shelby. This event will mark the kickoff of the Cleveland County United Arts Fund drive with a goal of $100,000 to support the arts in Cleveland County. The United Arts Fund drive is the first to be held in Cleveland County and will provide operating funds for the Cleveland County Arts Council, Kings Mountain Little Theatre, Greater Shelby Community Theatre, Shelby Art League, Cleveland County Choral Society and Friends of the Carrousel. "The programs offered by the Arts Council and its affiliates add a cultural dimension to our county that is truly needed and I am pleased to chair our county's first- ever United Arts Fund campaign” said Charlie Harry of Grover Industries, campaign chairman for the fund drive. The Arts Extravaganza will showcase local performing and vi- sual artists. Actresses from Kings Mountain Little Theatre will per- form the opening song and dance number from their latest produc- tion," Nunsense." Robert Bob Stephens, student at Cleveland Community College and profes- sional musician, will provide in- strumental selections on the piano. Greater which will have a patriotic theme.
