The front yard and fence were damaged Ptl. T. B. Fletcher said that a1991 Toyota parked by Herman Dennis Stroupe Jr., of Grover, at Winn-Dixie Parking lot was damaged $550. Ptl. Andy Berry cited Leroy Gwinn Byrd, 46, of 1712 Northwoods Dr., with failure to report a collision and no insurance after a wreck. Berry said that Byrd lost control of his 1985 Honda and the car hit a tree on Groves Street. Byrd abandoned the vehicle and walked home The car was damaged $2500. Ptl. H. L. Reeves said that a hitand run driver rear-ended a 1992 Nissan truck operated by Matthew Morris, 133 W. Mountain St., and sent the truck into the back of a 1988 Oldsmobile operated by Estella Nixon, 413 Belvedere Circle. Tessneer said that Sayphonh Phannareth, 505 Landing St., said she was talking on her car telephone and her foot hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and the vehicle struck the back of a 1989 Toyota operated by Edith Sellers Jolly, 401 Maner Road. Damages were estimated at $225. Ptl. Larry Ware said that a 1992 Chrysler was being backed by Geneva Wells, 604 W. King St., from a parking space at The Kings Moun- tain Herald and struck a 1988 Chevrolet operated by Dustie Bell Gladden, 800 Gantt St. Damages were estimated at $350. JUNE 20 Ptl. Larry Ware said the steering apparently failed on a 1986 Jeep op- erated by Danny Boy Stamey, 704 Katherine Ave., and struck a 1994 Nissan operated by Melanie Renee Hussey, 1408 Freedom Mill Rd., Gastonia. Damages were estimated at $5500 to the two vehicles and $300 damage to a fence owned by Con- crete Coring on Cleveland Avenue. The accident happened as the Stamey Jeep turned off Cleveland Avenue onto Woodside Drive. Ptl. Larry Ware said that Heather Wreath Wissinger, 111 Lot 12 Morris St., was treated at Gaston Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on King Street. Ware said that a 1995 Dodge operated by a 16-year-old driver struck a 1982 Chevrolet oper- ated by Wissinger. Damages were es- timated at $1600. Ptl. C. M. Kahn said that a 1987 Pontiac was being backed by Talia Quinn, 608 Temple St., from a park- ing space at The Pantry and struck a 1976 Chevrolet truck operated by Dwayne Arnold Stroupe, 557 Burrington Court Gastonia. JUNE 21 Ptl. Andy Berry said that ve- hicles operated by Johnnie Bynum, 1909 Alpine Rd., and Jody Dixon Wray, 653 Bell Road, hit on King Street at Battleground Avenue.
