B. Fletcher responded to a reported assault on a female at No. 10 Westgate Mobile Home Park. Alethea Marshette Hunt, of 314 E. Ridge St., reported that she was al- legedly slapped. Police advised war- rants. Gertrude Chaney, 314 Fulton Rd., reported that someone pried open her utility building door. Noth- ing was reported missing. Community Grocery, Waco Rd., reported that a customer passed a bogus check. Ptl. C. M. Kahn responded to a reported assault on a female and tres- passing incident in the game room of Depot Stop & Go on North Piedmont Avenue. Rhonda Ramsey Guinn, 219 Kiser Road, was the complainant. James Travis Young, 125 Cornelius St., reported that he was . assaulted behind Chesterfield Apart- ments by someone who came up be- hind him and struck him in the back of the head. KM Express Store, 212 W. King St., reported that a customer pumped $10 worth of gas and left the pumps without paying for it. Jimmy Gregory Richards, Apt. 1B Kingswood, reported theft of a tool box containing wrenches, a ratchet set and a tape measure val- ued at $187. ACD player, speakers, one AMP and 30 CDs valued at $1300 were re- moved from a car parked at 802 Princeton Drive and owned by Joshua Floyd. KM Florist, 223 S. Battleground Ave., reported that a customer wrote a $170 check on a closed account. Minnie Towery, 217-A Waco Rd., reported that someone egged his 1984 Dodge parked at his residence. Billy Fralick, 107 Myers St., reported theft of three bicycles valued at $327. Ray McKenney Chevrolet, 615 Broadview Dr., reported that a deliv- ery truck struck lights under an aw- ning at the car dealership doing $500 damage to the fluorescent lights. Marion Woods, 116 Walker St., reported glamage to the dashboard area of his 1990 Pontiac at his resi- dence. Donna Glover, 36 Carolina Gar- den Apt., reported theft of her 1978 Buick valued at $700. Mary McDaniel, 803 W. Gold St., reported that a window screen in her home was cut. Van Morse, 5700 Margrace Rd., reported that firearms were dis- charged into the upstairs bedroom of her home and a window pane was broken out and three bullet holes damaged the sheetrock. James Camp cited Michael Chad McSwain, 19, of 400 Falcon Circle, Shelby, with expired registra- tion after a towed trailer came loose from his vehicle and struck a wooden fence at 108 Cleveland Avenue. The front yard and fence were damaged Ptl. T. B. Fletcher said that a1991 Toyota parked by Herman Dennis Stroupe Jr., of Grover, at Winn-Dixie Parking lot was damaged $550. Ptl. Andy Berry cited Leroy Gwinn Byrd, 46, of 1712 Northwoods Dr., with failure to report a collision and no insurance after a wreck. Berry said that Byrd lost control of his 1985 Honda and the car hit a tree on Groves Street. Byrd abandoned the vehicle and walked home The car was damaged $2500. Ptl. H. L. Reeves said that a hitand run driver rear-ended a 1992 Nissan truck operated by Matthew Morris, 133 W. Mountain St., and sent the truck into the back of a 1988 Oldsmobile operated by Estella Nixon, 413 Belvedere Circle. The ac- cident happened at a stoplight on King Street The truck was damaged $2000 and the Nixon car was dam- aged $100. JUNE 19 Ptl. J.H. Tessneer said that Sayphonh Phannareth, 505 Landing St., said she was talking on her car telephone and her foot hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and the vehicle struck the back of a 1989 Toyota operated by Edith Sellers Jolly, 401 Maner Road. Damages were estimated at $225. Ptl. Larry Ware said that a 1992 Chrysler was being backed by Geneva Wells, 604 W. King St., from a parking space at The Kings Moun- tain Herald and struck a 1988 Chevrolet operated by Dustie Bell Gladden, 800 Gantt St. Damages were estimated at $350. JUNE 20 Ptl. Larry Ware said the steering apparently failed on a 1986 Jeep op- erated by Danny Boy Stamey, 704 Katherine Ave., and struck a 1994 Nissan operated by Melanie Renee Hussey, 1408 Freedom Mill Rd., Gastonia. Damages were estimated at $5500 to the two vehicles and $300 damage to a fence owned by Con- crete Coring on Cleveland Avenue. The accident happened as the Stamey Jeep turned off Cleveland Avenue onto Woodside Drive. Ptl. Larry Ware said that Heather Wreath Wissinger, 111 Lot 12 Morris St., was treated at Gaston Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on King Street. Ware said that a 1995 Dodge operated by a 16-year-old driver struck a 1982 Chevrolet oper- ated by Wissinger. Damages were es- timated at $1600. Ptl. C. M. Kahn said that a 1987 Pontiac was being backed by Talia Quinn, 608 Temple St., from a park- ing space at The Pantry and struck a 1976 Chevrolet truck operated by Dwayne Arnold Stroupe, 557 Burrington Court Gastonia. JUNE 21 Ptl. Andy Berry said that ve- hicles operated by Johnnie Bynum, 1909 Alpine Rd., and Jody Dixon Wray, 653 Bell Road, hit on King Street at Battleground Avenue. Prop- erty damages were estimated at $2800. Ptl. T. B. Fletcher said that a 1985 Chevrolet SW operated by Richard Finley Young, 310 Crescent Hill Rd., struck a 1995 Mazda truck operated by Agatha Helms Postelle, 1619 Red Road, Shelby, at the stoplight at Pied- mont Avenue and Battleground Ave. Damages were estimated at $5500. Pt. Penny Fulton said that a parked 1994 Dodge owned by Sandranette Camp, 114 Mount Sinai Church Road, was damaged $400. The car was found damaged in a parking lot on Edgemont Avenue. Pil. T. L. Reeves said that Timo- thy Earl Wade, 6055 S. York Road, Gastonia, was backing his 1996 Chevrolet Van from McDonald's Res- taurant parking lot and struck a 1991 Mitsubishi owned by Lakesha Janet Stephens, 123 Compact Schol Road. Damages were estimated at $500.
