Weddings MR. AND MRS. ROBERT LYNN SCISM (Cameron Kay Johnston) Johnston-Scism Patterson Grove Baptist Church was the setting June 16 for the wedding of Cameron Kay Johnston and Robert Lynn Scism. The Rev. Benny Green and the Rev. Richard Plyler officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, The bride was given in marriage by her father. Best man for the bridegroom was his father. Monica Scism attended the bride as maid of honor. Groomsmen were Mitch Johnston, John Bridges, Stoney Parham and Marcus Scism. An outdoor reception was held after the cere- mony on the church lawn. The bride is the daughter of Donald Farrell Johnston of Gastonia and the late Janet Adams Johnston and the granddaughter of Mrs. Arthur Adams of Gastonia. She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a teacher at Bessemer City High School. The bridegroom is the son of Robert Ray and Becky Falls Scism of Kings Mountain and the grandson of Mrs. Carl Falls and Mrs. Mearl Scism, both of Kings Mountain. He is employed as a carpenter for G. E: Penner Construction Company. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Mercier of Kings Mountain and the late Jack Mercier and Mrs. Mildred Clements and the late John Clements. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received a B.S. degree in Biology and a B. A. degree in Chemistry. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Key of Pilot Mountain. He is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Key and the late Alvis Key and Mrs. Lenice Johnson and the late Raymond Johnson. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Chemistry teacher with Rockingham County Consolidated Schools. Matron of honor was Erin Foster of Kings Mountain.. RANDOLPH ALEXANDER Seis on Golden Wedding Day July 13, 1996 their golden wedding day Randolph and Mary Helen Allman Alexander celebrated their golden wedding anniversary July 13. They were married July 13, 1946 in Gaffney, SC. An anniversary reception was given by their children and their spouses. The couple has three children: David Alexander of Polkville and Gail Alexander Stamey and Rev. Darrell Alexander, both of Kings Mountain. The family includes six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Alexander is owner of Randy's Builders in Kings Mountain and is pastor of Holiness Christian Mission Church. Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs. Alexander's brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Thelda Allan, of Clio, Michigan. MR. AND MRS. Van Dyke celebrate 50th anniversary James Robert and Inez Van Dyke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 14 at a recep- tion at Love Valley Baptist Church fellowship hall. F Hosting the party from 1-5 p.m. were the cou- ple's children, James W. and Carolyn Van Dyke, Bruce and Wanda White, Jinmy Van Dyke and Marion and Sheila Wilson. The golden wedding anniversary theme was featured in decorative details and refreshments. A decorated cake was cut and served with punch and party pickups.
