July 25, 1996 Wedding Marianne Jeannette Williams and Stephen Curtis Keadey were married June 1 at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Dr. Jim Gilland and Rev. George Freeman offici- ated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Williams Jr. of Charlotte, formerly of Bessemer City, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs, Edward J. Williams Sr. of Richmond, Va., al- so formerly of Bessemer City, and the late Marion Horne Lingerfeldt and the late Bain Lingerfeldt of Bessemer City. She is also the great-granddaugh- ter of Mrs. George Horne (Mama Horne) and the late Mr. Horne of Bessemer City. The bride was escorted to the altar and present- ed in marriage by her father. She wore a formal white silk princess style gown with a Chapel train and princess neckline. The short sleeved bodice was covered with pearl appliques. The floor- length veil of diamond illusion was gathered into a headpiece of silk roses and trimmed with scat- tered pearls. The bride carried a flowing, cascad- ing bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and ivy. Maid of honor was Alissa Williams of Charlotte, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kanku Bhagat of Raleigh, Amy Powers of Morrisville, Mrs. Ashleigh Sumlin of Carrboro and Kristie Weisner of Chapel Hill. All the attendants wore cobalt blue tea-length, short-sleeved, fitted Chemise gowns enhanced by an opening to the left knee. Each carried a nosegay bouquet of Stargazer lilies, white moun- tain lilies and ivy. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry R. Keadey of North Olmstead, Ohio and the grandson of Mrs. Robert Keadey and the late Mr. Keadey of Westlake, Ohio. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Historic Morehead Inn in Charlotte. : Best man was Scott Malchus of North Hollywood, California. The plot highlights the rela- tionship of the sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her future husband, Frank Butler. Wells previously played the principal role of Charlie and won the Best Actor Award in the Kings Mountain High School production of "Annie Get Your Gun." His KMHS per- formance was under the musi- cal direction of Eugene Bumgardner and the direction of Betsy Wells. While at KMHS, he also per- formed as Tony in "West Side Story," Fryar Tuck in "Robin Hood," Uncle Max in "Sound of Music," Louis in "The King and I," and the Sheriff in "To Kill a Mockingbird." He also returned from college last spring to play the guitar in the 1996 musical "Grease." The show will be performed July 25-27 at 8:15 at Gastonia Little Theatre on Clay Street.
