Page 2B | Church Briefs The Florida Boys Florida Boys to sing at Second Baptist The world famous Florida Boys will be appearing at Second Baptist Church, 120 Linwood Road, Kings Mountain, Saturday, August 10 at 7 p.m. This will be a love offering concert. Members Les Beasley (lead and bass player), Glen Allred (bari- tone and guitar), Derrell Stewart (piano), Buddy Liles (bass), Greg Cook (tenor), and Tim Lovelace (playing various music instruments) are members of the group whose roots go back to 1947. Today, the Florida Boys sing 50 weeks of the year at concerts all across America. They have been in over a dozen foreign countries; co-host an annual sing "The Suwannee River Jubilee" at the Spirit of the Suwannee Camp in Live Oak, Florida, co-host a singing cruise each year to the Bahamas, and perform at most of the key events in Southern Gospel Music year after year. The Florida Boys have been pioneers in the Southern Gospel world and are still pioneering today by taking Southern Gospel Music into areas it has not gone before.
