JOHN RILEY CARROLL (Tonya Kay Hawkins) Hawkins-Carroll St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawley's Island, SC was the setting Saturday for the wedding of Tonya Kay Hawkins and John Riley Carroll. Dr. Thomas Rogers officiated the ceremony for which Suzanne Young was organist and Toni Ball was soloist. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Zena Hawkins Allen of Charlotte was her sis- ter's matron of honor and bridesmaids were Sara Carroll Williams of Leavenworth, Kansas and Stephanie Goodson of Atlanta, Ga. All the attendants wore long fushia suits de- signed with scoop necklines and carried bouquets of white miniature roses. The bridegroom's father was best man. Ushers were G. Wesley Durant of Myrtle Beach, SC and David V. Stolte of Conway, Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. Riley Carroll hosted the reception after the ceremony at Litchfield Beach House. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Fouts hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night at Ivory's at Pawley's Island, SC. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Hawkins of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride who is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Baity of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. and Mrs. P. A . Hawkins. She was graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She is a member of Delta Beta Sorority. The bridegroom is the son of Riley D. Carroll of Pawley's Island and Mrs. Joel W. Fouts of Cary. He is a graduate of Coastal Carolina College and is the grandson of Sara O. Walker and Oran and Edith Carroll. After a wedding tirp to St. John's in the Virgin Islands the newlyweds will be at home in Pawley's Island. MRS. DOUGLAS CHRISTOPHER HENDERSON (Kourtney Allison Houston) Houston-Henderson Mooresville's First Presbyterian Church was the setting September 21 for the 7 p.m. wedding uniting Kourtney Allison Houston and Douglas Christopher Henderson. Dr. S. Edwin Lewis officiated the ceremony for which Vic West was pianist, Nancy Watson was organist, John Carmichael was trumpeter and Shelley Rhodes and Irvin Moore were vocalists. Included in the program of music was the duet, "All T Ask of You." The sanctuary was decorated with cande- labrum entwined with greenery. Lighted lanterns marked the pews. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of ivory silk embroi- dered with lace appliques and encrusted with pearls and sequins. A Chapel-length train extend- ed from the sheath skirt. The Juliet cap was en- crusted with pearls and held a shoulder-length veil of silk bridal illusion. She carried a nosegay of gardenias and stephanotis. JOHN DAVID VAN DYKE III (Shannon Michelle Miller) Miller-Van Dyke First Baptist Church was the setting September 21 for the 7 p.m. candlelight wedding uniting Shannon Michelle Miller and John David Van Dyke III. Dr. John Sloan officiated the double-ring cere- mony which including the lighting of the Unity candle by the couple and the lighting of a memo- ry candle by the bridegroom's family in memory of the late Kim Miller Thompson, sister of the bride. : Michael Sisk was organist and Preston Brown and Tabatha Greene were vocalists for the pro- gram of nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white bridal satin de- signed with high beaded neckline and long sleeves enhanced by lace and sequins. A white satin bow enhanced the waistline of the gown from which swept a long skirt with a Cathedral train complimented by pearls and sequins. She carried a cascade bouquet of white and burgundy Stargazers, white roses, Sweetheart roses, fire and ice roses, ivy, onion grass and heather. Brittany Thompson, niece of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mary Sailors, Karyn Love and Kristi Lynch, all of Charlotte, Kelli Hughes, cousin of the bride- groom, Amanda Goodrum of High Point, Ashley | Lovelace of Kings Mountain and Marci Park of Clarksville, Tn. PETER JAMES MAZUROWSKI (Ashlie Anne Jackson) Jackson-Mazurowski Mr. and Mrs. Peter James Mazurowski, who were wed Saturday, are on a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico and afterwards will be at home in Spartanburg, SC. Ashlie Anne Jackson became Mazurowski's bride in a 5:30 p.m. candlelight wedding in Spartanburg's First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Wayne Cole, pastor of the church, officiat- ed the ceremony, assisted by Deacon Robert Mahaffey of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Marsha Andrews was organist for the program of nuptial music. Trey Black of Lexington, cousin of the bride, lit the altar candles. Stephanie Black of Lexington, cousin of the bride, was register at- tendant. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white Dupioni silk de- signed with a lace bodice enhanced by pearls and sequins. The Sweetheart neckline and puff sleeves were enhanced by pearls. The dropped waistline was enhanced by a bow at the back. The long silk skirt extended into a Chapel train. Her waist- length veil of illusion was attached to a headpiece of handmade silk roses. She carried a bouquet of white roses and medically current and baby's breath surrounded with ivy and silk ribbon streamers. After the ceremony the newlyweds left for a trip to The Bahamas. Ann Hall and LouAnne Ruppe hosted the reception September 28 at 4 p.m. in Grace United Methodist Church. Daughter of Ann Hall of Kings Mountain, the bride is the grand- daughter of Helen Hamrick of Kings Mountain and the late Frank Hamrick. She is employed by Harris Welco in Kings Mountain. The bridegroom is the son of Annette Dobson of Mooresville and Jerry Mishoe of Charlotte. He is the grandson of J. N. and Ruth Mishoe or Conway, SC and Jeanette Dempsey of Hartsville, SC and the late W. G. Dempsey. He is employed by Plastic Former Inc of Mooresville.
