Page 6B Rules to enter floral fair Here are the rules to enter the Woman's Club annual floral fair October 16 at the Woman's Club for which ribbons will be awarded. Exhibitions are open to the pub- lic in the niche division and in the specimen division. Tables are open to the four garden clubs. Exhibits must be placed with en- try cards between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. October 15 or from 8 .m. until 9:30 a.m. on the day of the show October 16. After 9 a.m. no exhibits will be accepted. All entries must be passed by the classification chairpersons. The flower show committee will exercise care in protecting exhibits but will not assume responsibility for loss or damage. All exhibits must remain in place until the close of the show at 8 p.m. and be removed promptly there- after. Only authorized personnel may remain on the floor during judging. Entry reservations must be made with either Selena Trott, 739-2413, or Esther Muench, 739-1917, co- chairs, by noon October 15. All entries must contain live plant material. The use of artificial plant materi- al is prohibited. The design of the exhibitor must be the work of the exhibitor. Al] designs must be completed at home except for minor adjustments before being placed in the show area. Specimens and potted plants ex- hibits must be grown by exhibitor. Any container grown plant must have been owned by exhibitor for ‘at least three months. All entries should be correctly | named in order to be considered Pressly gives program to Magnolia Club Mrs. W. L. Pressly, accredited flower show judge and wife of the former minister of Boyce Memorial ARP Church, con- ducted a workshop September 24 for members of the Magnolia Garden Club. Mrs. John C. McGill, hostess, served refreshments at her home after President Glenda Colburn greeted members and welcomed Jill Hinson as a new member. Hostess and program sched- ules for the new club year were distributed and members made plans to participate in the October 16 floral fair of the Kings Mountain Woman's Club. The club will display a table ar- rangement and ‘two-niches on | the theme, "Get Out The Vote in '96." Mrs. Pressly demonstrated a Japanese arrangement as a highlight of the meeting and judged several arrangements by members. JACKSON From Page 3-B Bridesmaids were Tonya K. Miller and Gena J. Jones, both of Spartanburg. All the attendants wore Dupioni silk champagne floor- length suits. The two-piece en- sembles featured a sheath skirt with matching fitted bodice de- signed with scooped neckline, shirred cap sleeves and self fab- ric bows at the shoulder lines. They carried bouquets of Riibrum lilies. Drew G. Jarrell of Spartanburg, SC was best man. Groomsmen were David J. Mazurowski and Alan T. Mazurowski, brothers of the bridegroom, and Stefan H. King, brother-in-law of the bride. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremo- ny in the church social hall. The wedding colors featured deco- rative details. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night at Spice of Life Restaurant in Spartanburg, SC. Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Jackson of Spartanburg, SC, for- merly of Kings Mountain, are parents of the bride who is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hilliard Black of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thompson Wood Jackson of Kings Mountain. A graduate of Paul M. Dorman High School, the bride received her B. S. degree in Financial Management from Clemson University. She is employed with Rieter Corporation. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Mazurowski of Hendersonville and the grandson of Mrs. Frank Splain and the late Mr. Splain and the late Mr. and Mrs, Stanley Mazurowski. He is a graduate of Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, OR and the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a B.S. degree in Natural Resource Management. A specimen is one bloom, spike, spray, stem, stalk or head. A collection is five varieties or five colors of one variety. Katherine Martin is five years old Katherine Elizbeth Martin, daughter of Penny and Don Martin, was five years old October 2. She celebrated September 28 with a party at The Fun Jungle in Shelby. Friends and family attended. Friends present were Alex Edwards, John Hanna, Justin, Jacob and Jared Boyd, Hayley German, Mary Katherine Lynn, Jaria Gordan, Lauren Miller, and Sallie Goforth. Her grand- mother made a Ballerina cake. Katherine Elizbeth has a sis- ter, Rebecca Martin. Her grand- parents are Don and Jane Martin and Ted and Genia Blue, all of Kings Mountain. Niches are for free standing ar- rangements to be viewed from the front only on a blue tablecloth with white background. KATHERINE MARTIN GARRETT HERNDON a er October 3, 1996 It's a boy for Herndons Garrett Clay Herndon was born August 29, 1996 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He weighed eight pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. Parents are Brent and Kristie Herndon of 4942 Barrett Road, Kings Mountain. Maternal grandmother is Deborah Gregory. Paternal grandparents are Charlie and Pat Herndon. Great-grand- mother is Elizabeth Dover.
