"To have a close game against From 6-A a pretty good club in the first hands with almost every basket in the second half until the Mountaineers took a 37-33 lead with three minutes remaining. Carolyn Duckworth, who had been held scoreless after scoring eight points in the first quarter, hit a three-point goal to get Mooresville back in the game. With Mooresville leading 39- 37, the Lady Blue Devils turned the ball over on two consecu- tive trips down the court in the final 15 seconds. But Kings Mountain missed the front end of a one-in-one after the first Blue Devil turnover, and after the second one with 11 seconds left KM held for a last shot but Candace Moore's three-point at- tempt with one second left bounded high off the rim and over the top of the backboard. "Mooresville has a good ball club," said. Coach Leigh. "Their man-to-man gave us some problems early. We had to make a few adjustments, and the girls played hard to get back in the game, you have to be pretty well pleased,” he added. "We have some little things we have to work on, but I thought Kisha Hamrick and Jacque Hall did a good job for us offensively.
