In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Melanie Ripple Ballard of Kings Mountain; and his son, David Michael "Bo" Ballard Jr. of Kings Mountain. A memorial service will be conducted by Dr. Richard Newsome Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. - Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. CORA FOSTER Cora Bolin Foster, 69, 1724 .. Countyline Road, Kings Mountain, died December 7, 1996 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Victoria Mullinax Bolin and wife of the late Henry Foster. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Tommy and Michael Foster of Kings Mountain; daughters, Linda Franklin of Kings Mountain and JoAnn Green of Ellenboro; brothers, Brice Bolin of Blacksburg, SC, Lee Bolin of Aberdeen, J.C. Davis Road, formerly of Kings Mountain, died December 5, 1996 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. A native of New Port, TN, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth Wild West. She was the wife of the late Lias Leland Davis. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, LaFaye D. Smith. She was a homemak- er and a member of Ramah Presbyterian Church, York. She is survived by her daugh- ter, Sybil Brantley of Charlotte; six grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. FREELON RAMSEY Freelon Ramsey, 76, 705 Webb Street, Kings Mountain, died December 5, 1996 at his resi- dence. A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Gallie Lanier. He was retired from Firestone after 32 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Otis D. Green Post 155 of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hughes Ramsey of Kings Mountain; sons, Jerry Ramsey and Keith Ramsey of Kings Mountain; brother, Jack Lanier of Cherryville; sisters, Mamie Jenkins of Clinton, SC, Ruth Hughes of Kings Mountain, and Mary Hoyle of Bessemer City; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Hawkins is an official of Harris Funeral Home. Houze is a Lawndale minister. Other members present and voting were Shearra Miller, Connie Allison and B.S. Peeler.
