Hayes said he is getting excellent reports from Wagner's supervisor and calls him an asset to the police department. "We are getting some good men and most of them new to law enforcement and excited about making law enforcement a career," said Hayes. PTL. GARY WAGNER Police Report Freak accident fatal to Causby A freak accident Friday after- noon claimed the life of Larry Daniel Causby, 21, of 1218 Oak Grove Road. Causby was trying to retrieve a toy parachute from a treetop for a child and apparently died of electrocution when a makeshift lasso came in contact with power lines. The accident happened at 3:10 p.m. in the yard next door to Causby's home at the home of relatives where Causby's stepson was playing with a toy parachute gun when the toy caught in the bare tree branches several feet off the ground. Using a stick and a piece of old antennae wire, Causby re- portedly fashioned a lasso and began throwing it into the tree limbs trying to knock the toy down apparently unaware that a power line ran from the street to the house through the tree's branches. Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department's First Responders and paramedics from Shelby were first on the scene but re- suscitation effort at the scene and enroute to Cleveland Regional Medical Center were unsuccessful.
