Healing Force to perform at KMMS The Healing Force, a Winston-Salem dance and in- strumental troupe, will present a 45-minute show as the culmi- nation of Tuesday's Cultural Arts Festival at Kings Mountain Middle School. In addition to day-long hands-on activities, students will be entertained by four speakers. Barbara Locklear, a professional storyteller from Charlotte, will tell African and Asian folktales. Melissa Rikard, a Middle School teacher, will share her Middle East experi- ences and a Gardner-Webb University professor will speak about his experiences in Africa. Seventh grade students will be led by eighth grade students, teachers and parents in making African woven hats and tribal masks, Egyptian beaded jewel- ry, African tie dye, Egyptian pa- pyrus and Ashanti goodbye cloths. Art Students will display crafts which will also be for Bradley awarded scholarship at NC State David E. Bradley of Kings Mountain has been awarded a scholarship to be used in his studies in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University. Bradley, the son of Joan H. Bradley and Robert L. Bradley, both of Kings Mountain, was awarded the Philip Morris Agricultural Institute Scholarship. The program was established to encourage, pro- mote, and develop community leadership in the field of agri- culture. The funding for the festival is provided in part through an educational grant awarded by the KM District Educational Foundation. Activities are planned and coor- dinated by seventh grade teach- ers.
