For more information, call 8739-4833 or 739-5698 between 5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Grace Methodist VBS planned for July 21-25 Grace United Methodist Church, Church Street, Kings Mountain, will have Vacation Bible School July 21-25 from 6:30-8 p.m. The theme will be "Celebrating Jesus, Come and Worship! Ages 3 through adult are in- vited. Festival in the park Friday at KM Center | The Children's Council of the Western North = Carolina Conference of The United: Methodist Church will sponsor a festival in the park for chil- dren Friday from 9 am.-4 p.m. at Kings Mountain Community Center. The children's pilet project, "Celebrate! You Are Special,” is being held daily at recreation parks in Cleveland and Gaston counties. The Council is secking to pro- vide a summer experience of ministry to underprivileged children in the area. The all day events include arts and crafts, music, drama, games, food, sto- rytelling, and puppets. The Council anticipates ministering to 500 to 600 children during the first-time event. The event is open to children and is free of charge. Volunteers Som local United Methodist congregations will staff the event. Northside Baptist hot dog sale Friday The youth of Northside Baptist Church, Benfield Road, Kings Mountain, will have a hot © dog sale Friday, June 27 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. All proceeds will go to send the youth to summer camp. First Wesleyan building new Center A new Family Life Center es- timated to cost $550,000 is un- “der construction at First Wesleyan Church on Waco Road. The tentative dedication ser- ~ vice for the new facility has been set for November 23. Ramsey and Sons is general contractor for the 7,800 square foot facility which will house a multi-purpose room for the fel- lowship area and basketball courts, etc. and a kitchen, three classrooms, storage areas and rest rooms. : Clyde Dixon is overseeing the project for the building committee. First Wesleyan Church was organized in a tent revival at Vinegar Hill in 1899. In 1924 over 100 people marched from Hogpen Alley to a new build- ing on Waco Road, a block away from the present facility which was dedicated October © 20, 1974. Rev. Don Williams is pastor of the church which has an av- erage attendance for 150 for Sunday School and 200 for Sunday morning worship ser- vices. Fifth Sunday sing at Second Baptist Cross Reference will sing for the fifth Sunday singing Sunday, June 29 at 7 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 120 Linwood Road, Kings Mountain. The public is invited. Gospel sing Sunday at Westover Baptist Westover Baptist Church of Kings Mountain will have a gospel singing Sunday, June 29 at 6 p.m. featuring the Songsters of Dallas. Refreshments will be served. Pastor Larry Haskin invites the public. Holy Ghost revival set at Calvary Way Steve Campbell will be the evangelist for a Holy Ghost re- vival June 26-28 at Calvary Way Baptist Church, 310 Long Branch Road, Kings Mountain. Services are at 7 p.m. There will be special singing each night.
