A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John L. Sisk. He was also preceded in death by his broth- er, Sam Sisk. He was a member of Christian Freedom Baptist Church, the American Legion. V.E.W., and Kings Mountain Saddle Club. He was employed by Republic Textile Equipment Company, York, SC, for 23 years. He is survived by his wife, Rose Forrester Sisk; son, Mike Sisk and daughter-in-law Jill of Weston, CT.; daughter, Rhonda Shank of Lumberton; mother, Mary Ball Sisk of Asheville; brothers, Mark Sisk of Asheville, Tommy Sisk of Richmond, VA, Troy Sisk of ~ Knoxville, TN, J.B. Sisk and Charles Sisk of Kings Mountain; and granddaughter, Nikkie Wallace. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Mike Chambers at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. She is survived by her son, Otis Falls Jr. of Lake Wylie, SC; daughter, Betty Mullis of York, SC; sister, Flossie McCarter of Clover, SC; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Gus S. and Lillian Ramsey Bennett, and wife of the late Hunter Allen. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy Allen. Carl William Beaty Sr., 69, of 111 McMurray Rd., died October 27, 1997 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was a retired self- employed commercial tile in- staller and husband of Sarah Davis Beaty. He was the son of the late Walter and Ollie Barrett Beaty and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thurman and Junior Beaty, and his sister, Elizabeth Thomas. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ricky Beaty and wife Tina of Kings Mountain and Carl W. Beaty Jr. and wife Linda of Shelby; one daughter, Nanette Turner and husband Wayne of Grover; three sisters, Arlee Lail, Eunice Toney and Hazel Singleton, all of Kings Mountain; 10 grand- children; and four great-grand- children. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. The body will lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Rev. Dennis Wells and Rev. Luke Pearson will officiate. Burial will be in ‘Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Lutz-Austell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
