Obituaries The Kings Mountain Herald AILEEN PROCTOR KINGS MOUNTAIN - Aileen Lingerfelt Proctor, 79, died October 29, 1997 at Carolina Care Center, Cherryville. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late John Frank and Mary Lavada Queen Lingerfelt, and wife of the late Marion J.C. Proctor. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Jerry H. Proctor of Lexington, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bill Byers of Kings Mountain; brothers, Calvin Lingerfelt and Carl Lingerfelt of Kings Mountain; step-sisters, Iva Beam of Lady Lake, Fla. and Ruby Dixon of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Amanda Byers and Marc Byers; two great-grandchildren; and her aunt, Rosie Carpenter of Kings Mountain. . A graveside service was con- ducted by the Rev. James Daughtery at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. DAVID LEFTWICH KINGS MOUNTAIN - David Wayne Leftwich, 48, Mountain Side Drive, died October 30, 1997 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Fred H. and Evelyn Hullender Drewes. He was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, and an employee of Martin-Marietta Aggregates Kings Mountain Quarry for 28 years. He was a U.S. Marines veteran with serving during the Vietnam era. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Scotte Goforth Leftwich of Kings Mountain; daughter, Tandra L. Ramsey and son-in-law Brian K. Ramsey of Kings Mountain; step- daughter, Jamie Self of Kings Mountain; brothers and sisters-in- law, Eddie Leftwich of Kings Mountain, Nickie and Brenda Leftwich of Clover, SC, and Joe and Donna Leftwich of Weldon, Ca.; grandson, Cameron David Ramsey; and step-grandson, Sean Allen Downey. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Mike Chambers at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Ray David and Velma Thomas Ellington. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Ellington. She was retired from Gaston County as an Activity Director for the aging, and she was former owner and operator of Miss Priss Beauty Salon and Porkys Grill. She was a member of First Baptist . Church. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence M. Adams of the home; stepsons, Jerry Adams of Stanley and David Adams of Weaverville; stepdaughter, Wanda Raby of Kings Mountain; step-grand- daughter, Dawn Johnson; brother, Jack Ellington of Belmont; sisters, Faye Mincey of Cramerton, Edna Rae Brown of Gastonia and Ruth Heafner Bellville of Texas; niece, Amanda Penley; nine step-grand- children and three step great- grandchildren.
