Foust’ Lswis Johnston, 51, died Monday, November 17, 1997 at Wilkes Regeonal Medical Center. Mrs. Johnston was the daughter of Dorothy Plonk Lewis and the late Dr. Robert E. Lewis. She was a graduate of Wilkes Central High School and attended UNC-G. After graduating from UNC-CH, she re- ceived a Master's Degree in English from Appalachian State University. She taught in the English Department at Wilkes Central High School and Wilkes Community College and taught preschool at North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church. Most recent- ly, she was office manager for Leatherwood Mountain. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in North Wilkesboro and the United Methodist Women's Group, where she held various offices and taught Sunday School. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Blaine Johnston Jr. of Leatherwood, Ferguson; one daughter, Mary Lewis Johnston of Raleigh; two sons, Andrew Lewis Johnston of Americus, GA and Blaine Patrick Johnston of Raleigh; two sisters, Mary Suzanne "Suzie" Lewis Tonski of Huntington, West Virginia and Margaret "Margi" Lewis Tumer of North Wilkesboro; and one brother; Robby Lewis Jr. of Oelsnitz, Germany. A memorial service will be con- ducted by Dr. Sydnor Thompson III and the Rev. David Heil at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro.
