She served as Assistant Postmaster of the U.S. Post Office in Stanfield, NC, and was a former resident of Fort Pierce, FL. She is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Morgan of the home; daughter, Joan Long of Charlotte; sisters, Geneva Caveny of Kings Mountain and Nina Whitley of Locust; stepson, Ray Morganton of Winston-Salem; great-grandson, Zack Morgan of Winston-Salem; and three nephews, Tony Culpepper of Locust, Jerry Whitley of Charlotte and Charles Yelton of Concord. A memorial service was con- ducted by the Rev. Kenny Wallace at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 14 at Locust Baptist Church. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle was in charge of ar- rangements. He was a textile employee and at- tended Clearview Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Allen Allen of Grover; brothers, Raymond Allen and Richard Allen of Grover and Vassuer Allen of Shelby; and sis- ters, Frances Ledford of Rock Hill, SC, Linda Dailey and Evelyn Bell of Grover, and Pauline Goforth of Loris, SC. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Conrad and Willie Eva Dunlap Hughes. He was retired as Inspection Engineer at Wix-Dana Corporation in Gastonia. He was a U.S. Army vet- eran. He was also preceded in death by his son, Nelson Hughes. He is survived by his former wife, Faye Sipe Hughes of Blacksburg, SC; three sons, Conrad Hughes of Shelby, Edward Hughes of Easley and Larry Dean Hughes of Blacksburg; three daughters-in- law; brothers, D.C. Hughes of Kings Mountain and Erwin Hughes of Greer, SC; sisters, Mary Barber of Kings Mountain and Shirley Oliver of Shelby; three grandchil- dren and four great-grandchildren. McGill of Kings Mountain. She is survived by her husband, William O. "Billie" Weir; son, William Pressley Weir of Pahoa, HI; and one grandson, S. Anderson Weir of Tallahassee, FL. She is survived by her son, James Edgar "Jimmy" Dellinger Jr. of Kings Mountain; daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Dellinger of Charlotte and Doris Voiselle of Greenwood, SC; brother, Clyde Parrish of Kings Mountain; sisters, Cleo Crenshaw of Graham, Nelline Cable of Burlington, and Orangel McDaniel and Margaret Dellinger of Kings Mountain; four grandchil- dren and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a charter member of the Red Cross, Cleveland County, where he served as a volunteer. He is survived by his mother, Mamie Correll Howell of Grover; brothers, Jimmie Lee Howell of Grover and Richard Nelson Howell of Shelby; and sister, Peggy H. Mullinax of Grover. VanDyke of Kings Mountain; sons, Billy VanDyke and Jimmy VanDyke of Kings Mountain and Bobby VanDyke of Gastonia; daughters, Sheila VanDyke Wilson of and Wanda VanDyke White of Kings Mountain; brother, Jimmy Whetstine of Kings Mountain; sis- ters, Pauline Hurdt of Lincolnion and Annie Mae Leigh and Margie Hurdt of Kings Mountain; 15 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late William Edgar and Laura Veola Ledbetter Bridges. He was retired after 40 years as Spinning Supervisor at Esther Mill Corporation, and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 35 years and served as a Deacon, Church Clerk and Treasurer. He is survived by his wife, Emma Lee Clary Bridges of Shelby; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Randy Mull and Vickie and Oren Wyatt of Shelby and Judy and Dick McKinnon of Lancaster, SC:" brother, DI Lawrence Bridges of Shelby; granddaughters, Sandy and hus- band Tim Quattlcbaum and Karen and husband Wesley Costner of Shelby; grandson, Robbie and wife Nicole Wyatt of Shelby; grandsons, Richic Wyatt of Shelby and Chip McKinnon of Lancaster; great- grandchildren, Dusty Quattlcbaum, Christen Quattlebaum, Logan Costner and Landon Costner, all of Shelby; and a special care giver, Faye Terry of Shelby. He is survived by his father, William Lester Blanton of Kings Mountain; mother, Eloise Cash Hamrick of Kings Mountain; step- father, Bruce Hamrick of Kings Mountain; sons, -Robert Alan Blanton and Anthony Scott Blanton of Shelby; brothers, Keith Blanton of Blacksburg, SC and Philip Blanton of Kings Mountain; and stepbrothrs, Kim Hamrick, Eric Hamrick and Kyle Hamrick, all of Kings Mountain.
