Gospel concerts
BW Jerry Goff will be in concert at an early fall Rally Day service
Sunday, August 30 at 10:30 am. at First
Wesleyan Church, 505 North Piedmont Avenue,
Kings Mountain. A fellowship meal will be
served following the service. Goff is a winner of
the Dover Award, has a Gold Record, and is a
U.S. Olympic representative. His national hits
include "Search the Book Again," "Rapture," and
"Tear Stains."
B The Pine Ridge Boys will sing Sunday,
August 30 at 6 p.m. at Westover Baptist
Church, Kings Mountain. Refreshments follow-
ing the service. Rev. Larry Haskin, pastor, in-
vites the public.

B Homecoming will be held August 30 at Northside Baptist
Church, 101 Benficld Road, Kings Mountain. Speaker will be J.R.
Robbins, and there will be special music by The Songsters. All past

B First Baptist Church, 403 Cleveland Avenue, Grover, will pre-
sent Art Alive Ministries with Vince Tharpe, August 30 at 7 p.m.
Vince and his wife, Barbara have traveled extensively in the U.S. and
overseas, spreading the Gospel through the means of electronic spe-
cial effects and artistic talent. The special effects that Tharpe de-
signed make it appear that the scene he created on paper actually
comes alive. Lights are used in certain ways to create illusions of
movement and change, and audiences are left intrigued. A love of-
fering will be received. Dr. Tony Fulbright, pastor, invites the public.
Bible School
HB Miracle Tabernacle Christian Life School of Theology opens
September 24. The accredited Bible School is a four-year program of-
fering a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees. Classes are held
once a month for a 10-month period. Instructors are employees of
Christian Life School of Theology of Columbus, GA. For more infor-

slab methods to construct tea
bowls, cylinders, sculptural
pots, rattles, and whistles. Two
firing methods will be used -
electronic and gas. There will be
daytime and evening classes to
choose from. Each class will
meet for six consecutive weeks
at the Arts Center. No previous
experience is necessary. The
morning class will be held on
Thursdays, Sept. 10-Oct. 15
from 9 a.m.-12 noon. The cost is
$125 including supplies. The
evening class will be held
Thursdays, Sept. 10-Oct. 15
from 6:30-9:30 p.m. (Maximum
grades 3-8 explore many differ-
ent art mediums, art clements,
artists and their styles by mak-
ing their own art. Participants
will explore the areca of fine
crafts by weaving, making
handmade jewelry, paper, pot-
tery, origami and more. Class
size is limited. The afternoon
class will be held on Tuesdays
or Thursdays, Sept. 8-Dec. 3
from 4-5:30 p.m. Cost is $20 for
registration and supplies and
$40 each month for the class.
