October 15, 1998 BUD WARE . KINGS MOUNTAIN - Charles E. "Bud" Ware, 62, 601 W oe. .s +t Mountain Street, died October 12, 1998 at his home. A na- tive of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Estelle Hord Ware. He was re- tired from the Kings Mountain Fire Department as Assistant Chief. He was a member of Kings Mountain Baptist Church, charter member of the Kings Mountain Rescue Squad, former member of the Kings Mountain Police Department, lifetime member of the NC Fire Chief's Association, Cleveland County Fireman's Association, and Moose Lodge. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Lynn Witherspoon, Rick and Pinkie Witherspoon, and Larry Henderson, all of Kings Mountain; daughters and sons- in-law, Karen "Doodle" Melton and Jimmy Dellinger, and Terri and Joe King, all of Kings Mountain, and Susan and John Rhoades of Charlotte; father, C.D. "Red" Ware of Kings Mountain; sister and brother-in- law, Phyllis W. and Gene Austin of Kings Mountain; and seven grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Olin Byrum and Mike Chambers at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kings Mountain Baptist Church. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. FRANCES MURPHY SARASOTA, FL - Mrs. Frances Allen Murphy, 93, for- merly of Charlotte, died Wednesday, October 7, 1998. A native of Lincolnton, she was the daughter of the late . James and Fannie Jones.Allen. “! She was a member, of First #1 Baptist’ Church ‘and’ was retired as a manager for BellSouth Telephone Co. She was a mem- ber of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She is survived by her daugh- ter, Barbara Basescu of Sarasota; sister, Maude Lineberger of Cherryville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was married to the late Ural Murphy, an attorney from Charlotte who was the brother of Ila McIntyre of Kings Mountain and Helen McGinnis of Crouse. The funeral was conducted by the REv. James R. Martin at 11 a.m. Monday at McEwen Funeral Home Chapel, Charlotte. Burial was in Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton. DEXTER LOVELACE GROVER - Dexter Lovelace, 41, 768 South Battleground Avenue, died October 12, 1998 at his home. : A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Dewey Lovelace and grandson of the late Harlin and - Lela Caveny and the late Glenn Lovelace. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, and was employed by Public Service Company. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Lovelace of Grover; daughters, Crystal England and husband, Chad, of Grover, and Rhonda Willis of Grover; son, Eric Willis and wife, Sandy, of Johnson City, TN; mother, Pauline Beulah Caveny Lovelace of Grover; grandmoth- er, Eva Mae Lovelace of Kings Mountain; sister, Anita Messer of Grover; brother, Charles Lovelace of Dallas; and grand- children, Tiffany, Brittany, Heida, Hannah, Derek and Johnathan. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Gene Land, Dale Thornburg and Scott Carpenter at 3 p.m. Thursday at Eastside Baptist Church. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. He was a re- tired employee of the US gov- ernment, and was a US Army veteran of World War II.
