"I just enjoy helping other people,” said four year lunch veteran Annie Mitchum. Her friend Helen Lowery likes working with the shut-ins part of the program. |, "It's good to help the ones who can't make it here," Lowery said. Senior Center Site Director and luncheon supervisor is Ann Jordan. "We serve anywhere from 49 to 65 people at the Senior Center every day." Jordan said. "We also send out about 35 more meals to folks who can't get here." Recent changes have taken place in how the Senior Centers puts the food on the table. "We used to cook all the meals here," said Jordan. "Now Canteen Catering in Hickory brings the food already pre- pared and boxed." Mrs. Eugene McCarter, President, welcomed members. Mrs. Raymond Talbert read a clever poem about “Twas the Night Before Christmas for Gardeners.” Members shared ideas on what they were doing for Christmas. The Ways and Means Reid marks 25 years with First Citizens Jean Shear Reid is celebrating her 25th year with First Citizens Bank. Reid is a financial service man- ager in Kings Mountain.
