ROBERT R. McRAE, JR., Superintendent RONNIE W. WILSON, Asst. Supt. December 16, 1998 Dear Football Coaches and Team, You are to be congratulated on an outstanding season. What a thrill it was for me to see you have the opportunity to play for the state championship in Kenan Stadium. While I am disappointed for you that the game was won by our opponent, I am certainly not disappointed in you. You have given more to this community than anyone could have the right to ask. I doubt that you - especially the players - can fully comprehend the positive impact you have had on our community. I have seen our citizens come together around the team, establishing new friendships and a renewed enthusiasm that only your success could have generated. You have provided all of us with a sense of pride which will pay dividends for years to come. I think I have had a unique opportunity to follow your season and the preparation for it which you put in during the off season. You have proven that setting high goals and working hard to achieve them does pay off. You have proven that you can win while maintaining good behavior and being successful in the classroom. I hope that these lessons learned during this great year will not be forgotten now that the games have been played. The 1998 Kings Mountain Mountaineer football team is a great team. More importantly, it is a part of what is becoming a great football program. What you as players and coaches have given to the development of a football program which maintains high standards on a continuing basis deserves our greatest thanks. Best wishes to each of you for continued success in the future. : Sincerely, Sto Robert R. McRae, Jr. Superintendent LUBE’n Doctors Vision Center CRUISE : Sr 028 season! We love changing your oil!
