| a ee Ci February 25, 1999 Obituaries | MARY DELLINGER BLACK MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Mary Louise Dellinger, former- ly of Kings Mountain, died February 10, 1999 at Highlands Farms Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rhyne, and wife of the late A.T. Dellinger. She graduated from Lenoir- Rhyne College and taught in Mecklenburg and Stanly Counties. She was a member of Boyce Memorial A.R.P. Church. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Lamar Rhyne and Myron Rhyne. She is sur- vived by two sons, A.T. Dellinger of Mooresville and Bob Dellinger 0 Arden; and two grandsons, Ted Dellinger and Danny Dellinger. A graveside service was con- ducted at 2 p.m. February 12 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Charlotte. EUNICE NASH BESSEMER CITY - Eunice Irvine Nash, 96, 310 Park Terrace Ave. Apt. 310, died Sunday, Feb. 14 at her home. A native of Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lara Demaris Irvine, and wife of the late Robert Lee Nash Sr. She was al- so preceded in death by her son, John Irvine Nash; brothers John Irvine, Henry L. Irvine, C.D. Irvine, Claude Irvine; and sister, Laura Irvine. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Osage Mill. She is survived by her son, Robert Lee Nash Jr. of Gastonia; sons and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Jean Nash of Bessemer City, and Thomas and Becky Nash of Bessemer City; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma Jean and Bobby White rof Kings Mountain and Demaris and Carter Turner of Bessemer City; daughter, Libby Nash of Bessemer City; sister, Gladys Rikard of Myrtle Beach, SC; 11 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren, and three great- great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Larry McClure and A.A, Bailey at. 3: ‘p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at First Baptist Church. Burial was in Bessemer Cemetery. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Allen A. and Dovie Allmond Allmond and wife of the late Arthur Howard Wilson Sr. She was a homemaker and retired textile worker. She started to _ work at the age of 13 at Clinchfield Mills in Marion, and retired from Park Yarn in Kings Mountain after 30 years of ser- vice. She was owner and opera- tor of Grover Salvage Mart for 15 years. She was a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her sons, Arthur H. Wilson and Paul E. Wilson of Grover, and Wayne Wilson of Blacksburg, SC; daughters, Linda W. Hill of Las Cruces, NM, Sandra Gail Wilson of Grover, and Dorothy Fitch of Blacksburg, SC; 12 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by Dr. Roy Dean Clark at 3 p.m. Friday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bessemer City. Burial was in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. Sisk-Butler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. BILLY BYERS JR. KINGS MOUNTAIN - Billy Dean Byers Jr, 13, 108 Plantation Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Billy Dean and Patricia Worthey Byers of the home. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Shelby In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Tabitha Rashae Byers of the home and Melissa Bowen of Shelby; maternal grandparents, Carl and Patsy Worthey of Shelby; paternal grandfather, John Hastings of Lawndale; pa- ternal grandmother, Bertha Frank of Shelby; special aunt, Martha Spartanburg, SC; and niece, Ashley Bowen of Shelby. The funeral was conducted by Father Carl Kaltreider at 11 a.m. Saturday Catholic Church, Shelby. Entombment was in Cleveland Memorial Pak Mausoleum. Ianch Menus JOHN CARPENTER SHELBY - John Selinger “Sel” Carpenter, 64, 2250 Taylor Road, died February 16, 1999 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Fred Carpenter of Shelby and the late Mary Davis Carpenter. He was retired after 32 years of service with Hoechst Celenese Corp. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener, builder and softball fan. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Anna Potter Carpenter of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Doris Clary of Kings Mountain; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Bill Randolph of Shelby; grandson, Richard Selinger Clary; sisters, Nanette Denton of Polkville, Debbie Mullinax of Forest City, and Fincher Bolton of Shelby; special friend, Diane Stewart Currie; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a Baptist and was retired from Dicey Mill.
