SHELBY- Arthur Robert Holland, Jr., 81, 5024 Jackson White Road, Polkville, N.C., formerly of Camden, S.C., died May 30, 1999 at White Oak Manor. A native of Kershaw County, S.C., he was the son of the late Arthur Robert Holland, Jr., and Anna Horne Holland. He was a retired Fiber Industries worker and farmer and a member of Polkville Methodist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of WWII in Europe and North Africa with the 815th Aviation Engineering Battalion. He is survived by his wife Willie "Jay" Parker Holland of Polkville; daughter and her husband Mary Holland and Paul L. Young, Jr. of Camden, S.C.; daughter and her husband Mariam Holland and Rick Smith of Polkville; son and his wife Rev. Arthur Robert Holland III and Denna of Lexington., N.C.; sister Bessie H. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late William Preston and Jenny Caldwell Carrigan. He was a re- tired textile worker and a char- ter member of Missionary Methodist Church. He is survived by his sons, Buell Carrigan, Gerald Carrigan and Jim Carrigan, all of Kings Mountain; Bob Carrigan of Blacksburg, SC, and Bill Carrigan of Ocala, FL; daugh- ters, Faye House and Elaine Parker of Kings Mountain; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grand- children and five great-great- grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Carrigan of Kings Mountain. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Geneva Allen Moss; and his brother, Odell Allen. She was a charter member and first woman Elder of Dixon Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her son, Richard Carveth Wells and wife, Phyllis Faye, of Kings Mountain; brother, Jim McDaniel of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Scott Wells of Gastonia, Rev.
