WRECKS JULY 2 A drive shaft broke from a 1982 Chevrolet truck operated by William Charles Smith of Dallas and struck a 1998 Honda operated by Christopher Owens, 111 Lawson Place. Damages were estimated at $450. JULY 3 Ptl. D. W. Tedder charged Daniel Edward Gentry with DWI after the scooter Gentry was driving struck a parked 1991 Chevrolet owned oy Joseph Durant Moses, 319 Walnut Street. Damages were estimated at $300. A 1990 Ford operated by A J Windows/Locks Odell Walker of Bessemer City struck a 1995 Mazda operated by Lillian Gamble of Bessemer City on Cleveland Avenue. Damages were estimated at $1100. JULY 6 Roy B. Brackett, Campobella, SC, backed his 1998 Chevrolet from a parking space at Angie's Etcetera into a vehicle operated by Beatrice Phillips of Charlotte. Damages were esti- mated at $500. Jerry Dale Scism, Lawndale, was operating a 1994 Ford truck for Advanced Truss Systems of Kings Mountain and pulling away after fueling at Handy Pantry. Ptl. B. S. Biletnikoff said the left rear of the cargo Scism was carrying struck the pump and damaged it. JULY 8 A 1990 Nissan operated by Leroy Jo, 807 Landing St., struck a utility pole at 101 W. Gold Street. Damages totaled $8000. Ptl. D. W. Tedder cited Bonita Ann Guiton with safe move- ment violation after her 1983 Oldsmobile struck a 1989 Buick operated by Sarah Murray, 712 McDaniel Road. The accident happened on King Street. Damages totaled $6500.
