ROY PEARSON SR., ...celebrate Golden Wedding Day Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leon Pearson Sr. celebrat- ed their Golden Wedding Day Sunday at an an- niversary party hosted by their childrenrand:© i grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. “Butch” Pearson Jr., of Kings Mountain, their sons, Isaac Watson Pearson and John Ray “Jack” Pearson, and Linda and Billy King and their sons, Billy Jr. and Brian Pearson King of Wilmington, hosted the reception at the Kings Mountain home of the Butch Pearsons. Assisting in receiving and serving refresh- ments were Shirley Mayes, Libby Hawkins, Debbie Mauney, Mary Whisnor and Charlie Miller. The reception helpers were also present for the Pearsons 25th wedding saniversry par- Debbie Mauney, who decorated the Pearson home as a gift to the honored couple, centered the dining room table with an arrangement of 50 pastel-colored roses. The anniversary cake, topped with a bride and groom figurine inter- twined in double wedding rings, was cut and served by Mrs. Mauney. Libby Hawkins served punch in the family room. Yellow and green featured the decorative motif. Family pictures and memorabilia were conversation pieces throughout the house. Elvia Smith and Roy Pearson started dating over 50 years ago when they were introduced at a youth fellowship meeting at Grace United Methodist Church. Kings Mountain natives, they were educated at Kings Mountain High School and have long been active in community life. They married August 12,1949 in a ceremo- ny officiated by Rev. C. B. Bobbitt at Macedonia Baptist Church parsonage. Their attendants were D. C. and Faye Caldwell Payseur and the Rev. “Poochie” Shytle. Pearson is a retired recreation director for the City of Kings Mountain. Mrs. Pearson is retired from the Cleveland County Department of Social Services. They are members of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Pearson is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith. She has one brother, Clyde Smith of Columbia, SC. Mr. Pearson is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Pearson. He has two brothers, Olland and Flay Pearson, both of Kings Mountain; and one sister, Roberta Cobb of Detroit, Michigan. BRYAN KISER (Jane Annis Campbell) Campbell-Kiser Jane Annis Campbell of Kings Mountain, daughter of Clarence Jennings Campbell and the late Matoka Lee Campbell, married Bryan Clay Kiser of Shelby on June 28 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The ceremony took place on the beach of Breezes resort and was performed in the Parish of Saint James by Ambrose Hind, marriage officer of the island of Jamaica. The witnesses were Jamaican and dressed in Jamaican attire. Alecia Chiaholm attended the bride, and Emery Scott was the groom's atten- dant. The bride wore a white ball gown in satin and lace. It was fashioned with a portrait collar neckline, basque waist and long sheer sleeves accented with schiffli lace, pearls and sequins. The bodice was trimmed with schiffli lace, pearls and sequins. The skirt flows into an ex- tended chapel-length train with scalloped schif- fli lace hem. The back is finished with a peplum of tulle and adorned with the scallop schiffli lace. She wore a pearl cluster tiara with a two tier elbow-length veil with scattered pearls and her bouquet was made of tropical flowers with colors of pink and crimson red. The groom, son of Wilbur Clay Kiser and the late Mabel Deck Kiser, wore a Lord West New York notch full dress black tuxedo with a white vest. He has an Education Degree from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs and has been teaching 12 years in the Kings Mountain School System.
