Page 5A Bakers needed for Hospice sale All bakers in Cleveland County are needed for the an- nual Hospice Food Sale. Anyone interested in baking something for the annual event is asked to take the item to First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, on November 19 be- tween 2:30 and 4 p.m. Volunteers will then transport the food to Shelby, where the sale will take place on Saturday, November 20 beginning at 8 a.m. at Hendricks Appliance on Dixon Blvd. This is one of Hospice’s biggest fund raisers. “The food sale has become a much anticipated event in our county,” said volunteer Wanda Conner of Kings Mountain. “People look forward to buying delicious food for their holiday gatherings and family dinners. Meat casseroles, vegetable casseroles, frozen soup, home- made bread, rolls, along with pies, cakes, candy and appetiz- ers will be available. “What a wonderful way to start off the holiday season,” she added. “Not only will you get some great food to stock your freezer or pantry, but you are also helping out your fellow man by helping Hospice to minister to its patients and their families.” Bowlers post high marks Several bowlers flirted with 400 sets in Mixed Duckpin League action Thursday night at Dilling Heating.
