He was retired from the textile industry. GASTONIA - John Ed Davis Jr. died February 9, 2000 at Gaston Memorial Hospital after a short illness. * He was a former resident of Shelby and had been a resident of Gastonia Village Assisted Living Alzheimer’s Home for the past few years.
