Stacey Phillips named to All-Conference team Freshman pitcher /first base- man Stacey Phillips of First Assembly Christian Academy was named team most valuable player and All-Conference in softball this spring. She posted 47 strikeouts, an average of 1.1 per inning. She pitched a no-hitter against Trinity, and also had 11 strike- outs in four innings in the first game. She struck out eight bat- ters in five innings in a tourna- ment game against Gaston Daya nd struck out the last nine _ outs in a tournament game against VCC. She had a batting average of .605 and also had 13 stolen bases. Optimist cheerleading registration scheduled Registration for Kings Mountain Optimist Club cheer- leading is scheduled for Saturday, May 27 and Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at City Stadium.
