Canipe, to Sidney Sloan Bridges, son of Bill and
Barbara Bridges of Kings Mountain.
The bride-to-be is a 1995 graduate of Shelby
High School and a 1999 graduate of the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She is employed by Public Consulting Group,
Inc. in Charlotte.
The future bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of
Kings Mountain High School and a 1999 grad-
uate of the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. He is employed by Bank of
America in Charlotte. He is the grandson of
Mrs. Kathleen Bridges of Kings Mountain and
the late Benjamin H. Bridges, and Dr. and Mrs.

Serna was the Scripture reader.
The bride is the daughter of Carl and Pat
Champion and the late Patty Platt Champion.
She is'a graduate of Kings Mountain High
School, Clemson University, and the University
of Texas at Arlington. She is a certified public
accountant and member of the Charlotte
~ Clemson Club. She is a member of First ARP
Church, Gastonia.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Carol Ann
Jones of Greenville, SC and Van Jones of
Savannah, GA. He is a graduate of Travelers
Rest High School in Greenville, SC, and Brown
University in Providence, RI. He is Vice-
President of First Union Securities, Inc. in
Charlotte. He is a member of Charlotte
Clemson Club and First ARP Church, Gastonia.
Carl W. Champion gave his daughter in mar-
riage. She wore a white satin, tank-style gown
with A-line waist and triangle train by Carmen
Di Purna. Her bouquet was sunflowers with
baby’s breath, fern and ivy and included a
white Bride's Holy Bible. . |
Matron of Honor was Dina D. Holt of Irving,
TX. Bridesmaids were Kamie W. Champion’of
Kings Mountain, Christie L. Corbett of Atlanta,
GA, Beth D. Chambers of Kings Mountain,
Renee B. Crawford of Kings Mountain, and
Nancy S. Jones of Greer, SC.
They wore lime green sleeveless gowns with
a deep cut “V” in the back with draped lime
green chiffon stole across the arms. Their bou-
quets were smaller versions of the bride's.

The bride is the daughter of Forest P. Collins
and Ronda K. Collins. She is the stepdaughter
of Terri Collins and Dan Collins. She is a 1999
graduate of Kings Mountain High School and
is employed by Baker Dental Office in Kings
Mountain.
The groom is the son of the late Freddy
Waldt and Linda Waldt. He is a 1995 graduate
of Kings Mountain High School and holds a -
degree in Associate of Religion Church
Ministries from Fruitland Baptist Institute. He
