Bell and Marie Harmon Bell. He was also pre- ceded in death by brothers Nathanial and Billy David, and sister Carolyn. He was a retired shipping and receiving supervi- sor at FMC Lithium in Bessemer City. He was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and past Treasurer of Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 52: years, Betty Shepard; son Paul Douglas Bell of Kings ‘Mountain; daughter Sherry B. Arledge and husband Harold of Brunswick, Georgia; brothers William Curtis Bell and wife Carolyn of Kings Mountain, steve Bell and wife Brenda of Kings Mountain, Jimmy K. McConnells Highway, Sharon, S.C., died September 9, 2000 at his home. A native of Cliffside, N.C., he was the son of the late George Conner and Lula Bell Hutchins. He was also preceded in death by his son Carl Coy Conner. He was an employee of Dye House Textiles. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Churchand a U.S. Army veteran of WWIL. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Yates D. Lemons and Mae Green Lemons. She was the wife of the late Joe Ivie and was also preceded in death by her brother and sister in law Ray and Mabel Lemons and sis- ter and brother in law Lucille and Paul Black. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law Boyd Ivie and Betty, and Yates Ivie and Jerri, all of Denver City, Texas; grandsons Mark Ivie, Mike Ivie, Marty Ivie and Kenny Ivie all of Denver City; granddaughter Tonya Ivie of Denver City. The Kings Mountain Herald BRUCE BRIGMAN KINGS MOUNTAIN - Bruce Brigman, 58, 4504 Sandy Crest Ct., died Friday, September 8, 2000 at his residence. A native of Scotland County, he was the son of the late Bruce and Edith Warricks Brigman Sr. He was retired from residential construction. He was a Baptist, and a veteran of the National Guard. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Milton Brigman, and sister, Dot Simms. He is survived by his wife, Jaunita Webb Brigman; two sons, Robert Brigman and wife, Sally, and Johnny Brigman and wife, Tammy, all of Kings Mountain; daughter, Annette Melton and husband, Wayne, of Gastonia; two brothers, Larry Brigman of Dillon, SC, and Artis Huggins of Augusta, GA; four sisters, Betty Flowers of Dillon, SC, Shirley Coley and Frances Anderson of Gastonia, and Virginia Joyner of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Lisa, Heather, and Eric Brigman of Kings Mountain and Chris and John Melton of Gastonia; and several nieces and nephews. A native of Cleveland : County, he was the son of Joyce Cabiness Pruitt and stepfather Robert Pruitt of Grover and Tommy Lail and stepmother Cynthia of Shelby. He was em- ployed at Lail Plumbing and was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church and a student at Parker Street School in Kings Mountain. The patrols garnered a total of 21,185 traffic and criminal vi- olations statewide. Cleveland County contributed 268 viola- tions to the total and had 15 . checkpoints. Topping the list of traffic vio- lations snared during the “Click It or Ticket” drive in Cleveland County was speeding with 84 citations. The county with the highest number of speeding tickets issued was Wake with 321. Statewide, officers issued 6,665 speeding tickets during the campaign. The second largest number of violations in Cleveland County during the recent “Click it or - Ticket” roundup was for seat belt violations with 52 citations issued. The county with the largest number of belt viola- tions was again Wake County with 548. Statewide, seat belt vi- olations topped 4,300. Next on the list of tickets is- sued in Cleveland County was the category NOL- no operators license. In Cleveland, folks driv- “ing without a license got 21 tickets. The next highest county for driving without a license was Forsyth with 212 such vio- lations. DWI arrests made during the recent “Click It or Ticket” cam- paign were 765 statewide. Of this number, Cleveland County contributed 13 arrests. The next highest county for over age 21 ard DWIs was Cumberland County with 49 arrests. Besides traffic violations, the “Click It or Ticket” campaign also reeled in a good many criminal violations. Across North Carolina, the numbers were 189 misdemeanor drug vi- olations, 49 felony drug viola- tions, 10 firearms violations, 14 stolen vehicles recovered, one fugitive arrest, and 748 other criminal violations. of various WYPgS- Cleveland County, crimi- nal violations captured during. the campaign totaled 11 arrests. Broken down, these were one misdemeanor drug arrest, two . firearms violations, and eight . other criminal violations of var- ious types. Grover residents face drug charges A Coie: couple faces drug charges following a search of their home by Cleveland County Sheriffs Department's Narcotics Vice/COP Division and Shelby Police Department Narcotics Division last Wednesday. According to Investigator Robert Archie, officers seized 5.4 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $795 at the home of Ty and Janice Camp, 1229 Cleveland Ave. Ty Camp was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, conspir- acy to sell and deliver marijua- na, and maintaining a dwelling for the sale and delivery of mar- ijjuana. He was jailed under a $7,000 secured bond. Janice Camp was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver, three counts of sale and deliv- ery of marijuana, and one count of maintaining a dwelling for the sale and delivery of mari- juana. She was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond. The Sheriff's Department said the search was the result of a three-month investigation.
