GENEVA SIDES GROVER - Geneva Cherry Sides, 85, 203 Hardin Circle, died Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at her home. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late James Carl and Frances Cloninger Cherry, and wife of the late Andrew Franklin Sides. She was also preceded in death by sons, Gene Raymond Sides, Danny Lavon Sides and James David Sides. : { She was a member of { Bethany Baptist Church, where "she was a member of the WMU. She was retired from the textile industry. She is survived by her son, Robert Franklin Sides Sr. and companion Eula Mae Gibson of Blacksburg, SC; daughters, Joanna Godwin and husband, Bert, of Lake City, SC, Margaret “Honey” Heafner and husband, Steve, of Todd, Sylvia Davis and husband, Roger, of Grover, and Lynn Simmons and husband, Larry, of Gaffney, SC; sisters, Florence Maltba of Gastonia, Margaret Grigg of McAdenville, Vertie Robinson of Clover, SC, Kathleen Harbin of Holden Beach, and Evelyn Davis of Stanley; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
