orted that someone stole her
pocketbook from a grocery cart in-

Eckerd Drugs, 601 E. King St., re-
ported larceny of razors and an as-
sortment of medicine. Total value
was approximately $730.
Belinda Hutchsons and Tonya
Smith, both of 413 Hillway Dr., and
Luis Perez of 408 Hillway Dr., re-
ported a breaking and entering and
indecent exposure at their homes.
Damage to a door frame at 413
Hillway Dr. was $100.
Elaine Ross, 312 Amhurst Dr., re-
ported larceny of a cell phone while
at Winn Dixie. Value of the phone is
$125.
Mary Mauney, 200 E. Gold St.,

with 36 seconds left to tie the
game at 66-all, and the
Mountaineers called time out
with 17 seconds left to set up a
final play.
Goode finished with 21
points and 11 rebounds to lead
the Mountaineers. Josh Gash
added 12 points and Byers had
10.
David Smith led Shelby with
22 points. Petty had 16 and
Patrick Vercher 12.
Burns outscored the
Mountaineers 14-3 in the third
quarter to break open a close
game and put KM back in the
loser’s column in Friday's fifth
place consolation game.
The Bulldogs took Goode out
of the game early by getting
him in foul trouble. He rode the
pine much of the first half be-
cause of three fouls, and picked
up his fourth early in the third
quarter.
The absence of Goode helped
the Bulldogs increase a 32-30
halftime lead to a 49-39 advan-
tage going into the fourth quar-

reported larceny of a cell phone
valued at $150 from her workplace.
Tanya Ross, Shelby, reported that
someone used a key to scratch her
vehicle while it was parked at 705
Canterbury Rd. Damage was $500.

ported receiving a bogus check in
the amount of $381.56.
Texaco, 511 Linwood Rd., report-
ed larceny of $28 worth of beer.
Martin Marietta, 262 Holiday
Lane, reported larceny of a sped re-
ducer valued at $1,500.
Donald Dougherty, 1012 SEcond
St., reported that someone broke in-
to his residence and stole a TV val-
ued at $500, VCR valued at $65, -
and kerosene heater valued at $174.

ported being assaulted at a resi-
dence on Gold St.
Texaco, 511 Linwood Rd., report-

that someone assaulted him and
stole money and broke his eye-
glasses while he was at a motel on

Jess Lightson, 102-C E. King St.,
reported that someone broke into
his residence and stole a VCR val-
ued at $60 and 20 magazines val-
ued at $100.
WRECKS
Vehicles driven by Keon Smith
and Andrea Bel, both of Kings
Mountain, struck on Highway 216
near Chestnut Ridge Rd. Damage
to the Smith car was $2,000 and
damage to the Belk car was $2,500.
Smith was cited for driving while
license revoked.
A vehicle driven by Theodore
Taylor Jr. of Charlotte was traveling
north on I-85 near Dixon School
Rd. when a tire blew out and
caused him to hit a guard rail and
culvert, and then overturn. Damage
to the car was $5,000. Occupants
were treated for injuries at Kings
Mountain Hospital.
Vehicles driven by Robert
Spoloric of Stanley, and Don
Charles of Spartanburg, SC struck
on I-85 north near Dixon School
© Road as they were slowing for an-
other accident. A vehicle driven by
Coley Loman of Liberty, NC was
pulling a trailer and swerved to
avoid hitting the cars, causing the
trailer to jack-knife.. Damage to the
Spoloric car was $4,000, damage to
the Charles car was $3,000, and
dame to the Loman trailer was
$5,000.

Vehicles driven by Elizabeth
Upchurch and Jessica Carter, both
of Kings Mountain, struck on NC
216 at Margrace Rd. Damage to the
Upchurch car was $1,800 and dam-
age to the Carter Chevrolet was
$1,500.
A vehicle driven by Thomas
Davis of Bessemer City struck a
parked vehicle owned by Tymothy
Jones of Kings Mountain in an
apartment parking area on
Pennington Place. Damage to the
Davis van was $250 and damage to
the Jones car was $300.
Tyron Moore of Kings Mountain
was charged with driving while li-
cense revoked and having an open
container after a 1988 Ford hit a
guard rail on I85 South near exit
10B. Damage to the car was $800.
The vehicle came to rest partially in
the roadway and was struck by a
vehicle driven by Herbert Davis of
Spartanburg, SC. Damage to his car
was $2,000.
A 2001 Jeep driven by Chris
Leonard of Douglasville, GA struck
an icy patch at the I-85 /161 ramp,
causing it to spin and cross both
lanes of traffic and strike a guard
rail in the median. It came off the
guard rail and slid approximately
48 feet and came to rest on the top
of the guard rail . Damage to the
car was $20,000
A 1995 Ford driven by James
Friday Jr. of Kings Mountain tried
to avoid hitting another car on the
161/185 bridge, and grazed the
bridge. Damage to the car was $50.
Vehicles driven by Michael
Kaminski of San Antonio, TX and
Richard Clark of Kings Mountain
struck on NC 161 at I85. Damage to
the Kaminski car was $900 and
damage to the Clark car was $700.
Kaminski told officers the road was
icy and he pumped his brakes to
try to avoid hitting another vehicle
which was sliding in front of him,
causing him to swerve and strike
Clark’s vehicle.
