A native of Loungphrbang, Laos, he was the son of the late Leck Rithiphong and Doungkeo Rithiphong. He was the hus- band of the late Pinkeo Rithiphong. He was also pre- ceded in death by one brother. He was a captain in the Laos Air Force. Garbage pick up day late next week The City of Kings Mountain garbage collection schedule will be on a one-day delay next week because of the Martin L. - King Jr. Holiday on Monday. The Kings Mountain Herald Page 3A KM man charged with firing weapon A Kings Mountain man has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, chid abuse and communi- cating threats in connection with an alleged incident that oc- curred on January 2 at Carolina Garden Apartments. Ricky Lee Glover, 40, of 5075 Pennington Place Apt. 36, was taken into custody and placed in the county jail without bond. . According to a report filed by Officer B.M. Bumgardner, Donna Glover and Phillip Williams, both of Apt. 36 Carolina Gardens, alleged that Glover came to their residence to drop off his daughter, en- tered the residence and bran- dished a small calibre handgun. They claimed they were both threatened, and that Glover fired three rounds at Mrs. Glover, then left the premises. Bumgardner said he located ; fhreg; separate bullet holes in partment - one in the floor, oii&in the wall, and one in-the ceiling. t The report said Mrs. Glover's 9-year-old daughter was in the room where the shooting took plage. Forged checks keep KM; police on the go Kings Mountain Police are in- vestigating numerous reports of persons attempting to forge checks at businesses. On; January 4, Tandem Staffing reported eight checks stolenin the amount of $5,433:54 had been stolen last April, plus other checks that the company, stopped payment on. Some of the checks were cashed at stores in Kings Mountain. Also on January 4, employees of Winn Dixie reported that someone forged and attempted to cash a stolen personal check. Police charged Donna Anthony of Shelby. On January 5, Little Dan's #4, 726 York Road, reported receiv- ing a counterfeit payroll check in the amount of SL 19. Vehicles. broke into at Kitigs Mouritain HE Five vehicles were broken in- to Friday at Turbo Conveyors, Turbo Drive, Kings Mountain, according to Kings Mountain Police. The vehicles were owned by Kenneth Congleton of Dallas, Patricia Barber of Kings Mountain, Horace Billings of Gastonia, Richard Meeks of Kings Mountain, and Charles Lofton of Kings Mountain, all employees of Turbo Conveyors. According to officer Biletnikoff, suspects tore the soft top of Congleton’s vehicle to gain entry, and the other ve- hicles were unlocked. There | was $500 damage to Congleton’s vehicle. A plant janitorial service worker reported that she no- ticed a Hispanic male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt in one of the vehicles, Biletnikoff said. The suspect was reportedly driving a red passenger vehicle. Items stolen included cigarettes, car stereo, head- phones, cassette tapes, pool stick, tool set, hand saw, tape TE5h deck, stereo speaker, and cell phones. City of Kings Mountain re- ported that someone caused $200 damage to a transmitter at the water storage tank on Grace St. Jackie Barnette of the City of Kings Mountain reported an at- tempted larceny of four tires and rims from a vehicle stored at Public Works.
