Web page design, Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. January 17-April 11. The course will provide the basics needed to design a web page. ‘Registration is $60. Computer basics, Mondays 6- 9 p.m. January 22-April 9. The ‘course will cover basic win- dows, word processing, and spreadsheet. applications, and introduction to 3mail and the Internet. Registration is $60. Computer basics II, Tuesdays 6-9 p.m. January 16-April 10. This course will build on the fundamentals of computer ba- sics and is recommended for students who have already completed computer basics or who are familiar with basic computer functions. Summer Ventures deadline January 31 The deadline for application to Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics, a statewide program of residential institutes to provide enrichment and re- search opportunities to academ- ically talented high school stu- dents, is January 31. Application forms, which must be postmarked January 31, are available from high school guidance counselors. Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics is the na- tion's largest research-oriented summer program. Admission to SVSM is limit- ed to current high school sophomores and juniors whose custodial parent or guardians are legal residents of North Carolina.
