Margaret Short Moore, 75, 317
Oak Grove Road, died January
28,2001 at Baptist Hospital,
Winston-Salem, N.C.
A native of Cleveland
County, she was the daughter
of the late William Clyde and
Vertie Susan Davis Short and
wife of the late J. Frank Moore.
She was also preceded in death
by sister Betty Mauney and
brothers Bob Short and J.D.
Short. She was a member of
Patterson Grove Baptist
Church, Kings Mountain, where
she served as a Children’s
Sunday School teacher for a
number of years. She was re-
tired from Putnam’s Hosiery,
Kings Mountain.
She is survived by daughters
Carolyn Parsley and husband
Richard of Kings Mountain,
Sandra Bumgarner and hus-
band Mike of Fort Bliss, Texas,
Linda Dixon and husband Don
of Kings Mountain; sisters
Maxine Putnam of Kings
Mountain, Lois Eudy of

Chiropractic in Davenport,
Iowa: He practiced chiropractic
for over 37 years in North and
South Carolina. He was a
farmer.
He is survived by his wife,

County, he was a member of St.
Matthew's Lutheran Church,
Kings Mountain, an honorary
member of Pi Kappa Phi, and
served on the Board of
Directors for the Hemophilia
Foundation of North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife

Shelby, formerly of 116 Palmer
Street, died January 27, 2001 at
White Oak Manor.
A native of Rutherford
County, she was the daughter
of the late Noah Hoppes and
Pantha Smith Hoppes. She was
the wife of the late Graham
Dover. She was also preceded in
death by brothers Fred Hoppes,
Carl Hoppes, and Warner
Hoppes. She was a homemaker
and was the oldest member in
age of Zoar Baptist Church
where she worked in the nurs-
ery for over 40 years.
She is survived by brother
Arnold Hoppes of Drexel, N.C.;
sister Maude Davidson of
Shelby; also a number of nieces
and nephews.
The funeral was conducted
Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Zoar
Baptist Church by Dr. Marvin
Gobble. Burial was in Cleveland
Memorial Park.

Church, Kings Mountain and
also worked for White Oak
Manor, Shelby. He was a gradu-
ate of Fruitland Bible Institute,
member of Providence Baptist
Church, also a church planter
for N.C. Baptist Association. He
was a veteran of the U.S. Air
Force during the Viet Nam
Conflict.
He is survived by his wife

tional doses of the flu vaccina-

doses available at the Health

of Commissioners will meet

sider appointing Wayne King to

C Aging Advisory Council, and
will also name a commissioner
to replace former commissioner

The vacation was centered around the inauguration of
Congress Woman Sue Myrick. The family was invited to the in-
auguration, and dinner reception at the Old Ebbitt Grill.
Marlowe had the distinct privilege of being in the Congress
Gallery during the swearing ceremonies and Speaker of the
House, Dennis Hastert’s speech to Congress. They were given
congressional tours of the Capitol Building and White House
and other points of interest.
