Rev. Harold E. Schwantes officiated. Mark Black, saxophonist, Mike Rogers, organist, Sharon Young, pianist, and Donald Conrad Jr., vocal soloist, presented a program of wedding music. The bride is the daughter of Rick and Judy Bradley of Gastonia. She is the granddaughter of Virginia Bradley and the late Pete Bradley, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lutz. She is a 1989 graduate of Hunter Huss High School and a 1995 graduate of Appalachian State University. She is employed by Nationwide Insurance Agency. The groom is the son of Sandra Bumgardner of Kings Mountain and the late Garnis Keith “Bud” Bumgardner. He is the grandson of Alma Plonk and the late Wray Plonk Sr., and Evelyn Bumgardner and the late Joseph Bumgardner. He is a 1987 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a 1992 graduate of Wake Forest University. He is employed by Louisville Slugger / Taylor Brothers profession- al softball team, and is a contractor for NUS- PEC Tech, Miss. The bride was given in marriage by her fa- ther. She wore a two-piece corset gown in skirt, chapel length train and single tails featur- ing a double row of crystals. The strapless bodice was richly embellished with crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of two dozen Ana open roses wrapped with white satin rib- bon. Matron of Honor was Mrs. Dana Bradley Griffin. Maid of Honor was Miss Mandy Ann Bradley. Ranger Kelly Cooke will be guiding hikers to see a unique plant community on Saturday, April 14 starting at 10 a.m. Meet at the top of the Backside Trail for this outing. The hike will be strenuous, small children are not allowed, and pets should be left at home. Sunday, April 15at2 p.m., a program entitled “Beaver Basics” at the park lake will in- form participants about the life of beavers at Crowders Mountain. Ranger Tim Dorsey will lead the walk and discus- sion. Once again the new connec- tor land between Crowders Mountain State Park and Kings Mountain National Military and State Parks will be on the hiking schedule. Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., an all day excursion across this pristine land will take place. The hike will be about four miles long, will be in rugged territory, and young children and pets are not a good idea. Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring food and water.
