A native of Cleveland 5 County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Carrie L.A. Pruette Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mildred Joyce Metcalf; brothers, Fred Ramsey and Melvin Ramsey; and sister, Betty Jo Ramsey. I= She was retired from the tex- tile industry. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Douglas Houser and 2 wife, Sandra Jean, of Shelby; brothers, Robert Ramsey and Harold Ramsey of Kings -1. Mountain; grandchildren, Regina Aileen Carter, Donna Cody, Teresa LaRette, and Lori Allen; and eight great-grand- = children. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. He was a member of Love Valley Baptist Church and was retired from Kings Mountain Mica Company. She was a native of Mecklenburg County, and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she was a former choir member and former member of the Church Council. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Mauney Hosiery Mill. She was a graduate of Salem Academy and attended Lenoir Rhyne College. She was an avid golfer and former Ladies Club * Champion. She was a member of the Bridge Club and the Kings Mountain Garden Club. She was a homemaker. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, the Baxter-Davis Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Club. He was a former member and deacon of Cliffside Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran in the Army Corp of Engineers, serving in the Philippines, Okinawa and Korea. He was a member of Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460.AF & AM wherd he served as secretary for many years. He was a member of the Cleveland County Men's Senior Golf Association and the American Legion.
