BRIAN MACK LEFEVERS (Mary Elizabeth Harbin) Harbin-LeFevers C ue g Mary Elizabeth Harbin of Ellenboro and veep Brian Mack LeFevers of Marietta, GA ex- changed marriage vows March 31, 2001 at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont. Rev. Dr. Wayne Blackwood, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church of Ellenboro, and Ronnie E. LeFevers, the groom's uncle of Atlanta, GA, of- ficiated. Jeremy Scott LeFevers, vocalist, and Mrs. Julia Fallon, harpist, presented a program , of wedding music. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Hodge of Ellenboro. She is a graduate _ of the University of North Carolina at Chapel * Hill with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She is the granddaughter of Lou K. Mac Neill of Greenville, SC, and the late Cameron C. Mac Neill. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mack LeFevers Jr. of Kings Mountain. He is a gradu- ate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Major in Economics. He is employed with Autozone, Inc. as a Financial Analyst. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sherrer of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Mildred Petrucelli of Kings Mountain, and the late Mrs. Hildreth R. Sherrer. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, John Andrew Harbin, and her father, Mickey G. Hodge. She wore a strapless candle- light gown with a matching bolero jacket. The -.gown was defined around the bodice and hem- line with a silver floral design and pearls. The ° length veil, revealing the Harbin Crest at the end, was attached to a custom designed tiara of pearls. She carried a bouquet of roses in shades of pale pink, yellow and white. Maid of Honor was Rebecca Russell Harvey. Bridesmaids were Shelley Marie Harbin of Charlotte, Jill Miller Jones of Hickory, Mary Cameron McCall of Greenville, SC, Avry Rae Rutledge of Jacksonville, FL, and Jenna Owens Washburn of Gaffney, SC. They wore a mock two piece gown styled with a shell top and long skirt overlaid with iridescent raspberry organza,. They carried a spring bouquet of pe- onies, tulips and roses. Crystal Anne Bujold of Hickory presided at the registry. Mack LeFevers Jr. was his son’s best man. Ushers were John Andrew Harbin of Charlotte, brother of the bride; Allen Harper Ware of Kings Mountain, Jonathan Ryan Shoping of Concord, John Ryan Cheshire of Rocky Mount, and Joseph Carter Bouchard of Kings Mountain. The bride’s parents, Mary Alice and Mickey Hodge, hosted a reception at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. The groom’s parents, Mack and Ann LeFevers, hosted the rehearsal dinner at Gaston Country Club. MCABEE Mr. and Mrs. McAbee note S0th wedding anniversary William Brooks and Mary Helen Melton McAbee celebrated their 50th wedding an- niversary April 13 at 7 p.m. at a reception host- ed by their children in the fellowship hall of Second Baptist Church. Dozens of family, friends and acquaintances attended the cele- bration. The fellowship hall was decorated in a gold and cream theme. Guests were served wedding cake from an eight-layer, four-tiered cake. The cake was decorated with gold leaf accents, cream roses, and a golden vase of roses for the top centerpiece. Other refreshments served were Golden Southern Citrus Punch, cheese straws, creme mints, gourmet nuts, petit sand- wiches, Colby crackers, and golden chocolates with almond centers. Mrs. McAbee was presented with a surprise gift of a new set of wedding rings from Mr. McAbee. The two carat Marquee diamond wedding rings were in a gold setting with con- tinuous surrounding of diamond baguettes. Mr. and Mrs. McAbee were presented with gifts from the guests after refreshments were served. The McAbees were married April 14, 1951 in Gaffney, SC. They have six children, Dennis McAbee, Keith McAbee, Debbie Wells, Angela Robbins, Sonya Gregory, and Shanna Eaves. The have 10 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. =: oiouium © Mrps. Prenuptial parties honor Betsy Harbin, Brian LeFevers A number of pre-wedding parties recently were given in honor of Betsy Harbin and Brian LeFevers, who were married March 31 at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont. An engagement dinner and Christmas orna- ment shower was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ware, Allen and Meredith of Kings Mountain. A miscellaneous shower was hosted by Lisa Stewart of Kings Mountain, Jill Jones of Hickory, and Jenna Washburn of Gaffney, SC. A “tool man” shower was hosted by aunts and uncles of the groom. Linda and Beattie Leonard of Asheboro, Lisa and Wade Roberts of Charlotte, and Leslie and Kenny Falls of Kings Mountain. Betsy was honored with a bridesmaids brunch given by her aunt, Sandy Gregory of Lancaster, SC, her cousin Mary Cameron McCall of Greenville, SC, and her grandmother Lou Mac Neill of Greenville, SC.
