Afterward, his parents moved to Kings Mountain where he spent most of his adult life. § He was a member of St. PARKER Paul United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, leader of the Spiritual Choir, Chairman of the Finance Committee, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, and lay speaker. A talented musician, he sang in churches in North and South Carolina and was a member of a quartet with his brothers and brother-in-law. He was retired as a truck driver and driller at Foote Mineral Mining Company. He * was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 338, a member of DA McKay Lodge 584, PHA where he was Past Master, member of Charity Chapter 548, OES where he was a Past Patron, and member of Cleveland Consistory 122. His hobbies were gardening, hunt- ing and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pauline Washburn Parker; brother, Leander Parker; nephews, nieces, cousins, rela- tives and friends.
