American Legion Post 155 of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, truly represents our American values of integrity, sacrifice, compassion, morality and pride. Each spring and summer, cheers and hurrahs echo from the American legion Baseball fields because Post 155 contributes at least $8,500 yearly to this program. It also donates annually $700 to sponsor two Little League ball teams, and $1,000 to the Kings Mountain Lightning Fast Pitch softball team, unselfishly instilling positive individual and team values within our youth. Kings Mountain must be grateful and proud that American Legion Post 155 has committed itself to providing additional educational needs for our youth. It recognizes and awards scholarships of $1,000 each to three outstanding seniors at Kings Mountain High School who plan to continue their education further. Kings Mountain High School has also benefited from Post 155’s generosity and commitment to our youth by giving $5,000 to help in the maintenance of its football Further donations within our community from American Legion Post 155 include. $300 - Tar Heel State Boys Camp ~~ $600 - Kings Mountain Sports Hall of Fame $100 - Grace Methodist Church sign - County Children’s Home - Law Enforcement Children’s Fund $200 During the Christmas season, Post 155 joyfully give $2,500 to assist needy families within and around our hometown. And within their own “house”, they give $1,000 yearly to the VA Hospital, $100 to the American Legion Veterans Fund and have given $1,300 to aid in the burial of disabled veterans. Kings Mountain American Legion Post 155 truly benefits and serves our community while continuing to remind us of those values that make all of us Americans: generosity, pride, integrity, humility, compassion, sacrifice, love and joy. : If the new zoning ordinance in Kings Mountain goes through, these sponsorships will be lost to the community!
