i= The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
“Larry Jackson of Kings Mountain. She is a 1997
“graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a
2001 graduate of Appalachian State University.
©She is a second grade teacher at Newington
“Elementary School. She is the granddaughter
of Howard Jackson of Kings Mountain and the
late Essie Jackson, and the late Sam and Doris
Greene of Shelby.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Bouchard of Kings Mountain. He is a 1995
graduate of Kings Mountain High School and
attended UNC-Chapel Hill. He is employed by
Hertz Equipment. He is the grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. A.J. Bouchard of Lexington and Jeane
H. Little and the late J.C. Little of Linwood.
The bride was given in marriage by her fa-
ther. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
Matron of Honor was Wendy Jackson of
Belmont. Bridesmaids were Katie Bolt of Kings
Mountain, LeAnne Carroll of Boone, Lyndi
Stone of Raleigh, and Leslie Stephens of
Southport. Laura Jackson attended the guest
register, and Suzanne Lakey distributed pro-
grams.
Philip Bouchard was his son’s best man.
Ushers were Josh Lankford of Shelby, Brian
LeFevers of Atlanta, Matt Hines of Chapel Hill,
Rodney Ledford of Chapel Hill, and Sidney
Bridges of Charlotte.
The bride’s parents hosted the reception at
the church fellowship hall. The groom's par-
ents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Rose Hill,
Shelby.
Following a wedding trip to Cancun,
Mexico, the couple will reside in Charleston,

MR. AND MRS. HARRIS ON WEDDING DAY
MR. AND MRS. McNAMARA IN 1951
Gene and Wilma Harris celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary June 2 at the Family
Worship Center. Church of God fellowship hall.
Family and friends called between the hours
of 3-5 p.m.
Guests were greeted at the register by
Morgan Harris. Sissy Harris, daughter-in-law
of the couple, coordinated the decorations,
food preparations and servings. Assisting her
were the two sons and grandchildren, and
friends Elaine and Harry Jackson and Jean
Conner.
Decorations were white and gold with
greenery throughout the hall. Tables held float-
ing gold candles while the food table held
large candles with a line of roses and greenery.
A memorabilia table was in the center of the
room and held a white basket for guests to
place written memories of the couple to be
compiled in a memory book. The table also
held pictures of the couple and their two sons.
The center of the table held one dozen red ros-
es, a gift from Pastor Roger and Margaret
Woodard.

Dot and Joe McNamara of Kings Mountain
recently celebrated their 50th wedding an-
niversary.
They have one son, Alan McNamara and his
wife, Donna; and one daughter, Sharon and
her husband, Jerry Dennion.
Grandchildren are Curtis McNamara and
Brandy Adams, and Joey and Nicole Dennion.

Harrises celebrate 50th Anniversary

ment, a gift from Harry and Elaine Jackson.
The anniversary cake was a four-tiered cre-
ation in white with gold accents. kt was topped
with a ceramic figurine. keepsake forthe hon-

The cake was made and given tothe. couple
by Mr. Harris’ niece and Sisterin, law, Hope
and Marty Harris.
Gene and Wilma Harrisjwere td June
2, 1951 at the home of mesma in Gaffney,
SC. They are parents of two sons, Gene
Douglas Harris of Isle of Palms, SC, and Jeff
Harris of Kings Mountain. y
They have five grandchildren, Morgan and
Meg of Isle of Palms, SC, Jeffrey and Tyler of
Kings Mountain, and Melissa Patterson of
Clover, SC. They also have one step great-
grandson, Matthew Patterson of Clover, SC.
Mr. Harris is retired from Spartan Express
Motor Lines. Mrs. Harris is retired from
Mauney Hosiery.

the home of their daughter and son-in-law,
April and Jerry Morris. Many friends and fami-
ly members attended the backyard barbecue.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown were married May 25,
1941 in Greenville, SC. Mrs. Brown is the for-
mer Evelyn Vaughn.
After graduating from Furman University in
Greenville, SC and Southeastern Seminary in
Wake Forest, Rev. Bréivh pastored several
churches in North and South Carolina, includ-
ing Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings
Mountain. The Browns also served with the
Southern Baptist International Mission Board
as missionaries to Germany, retiring in 1986.
They are present members of First Baptist
Church, Kings Mountain, where Rev. Brown
enjoys teaching a Sunday School class.
Other children and grandchildren in atten-
dance were daughter and son-in-law, Elaine
and Mickey Jones of Auburn, GA, and Michael
Brown of Anderson, SC; and grandchildren,
Jessica:and Jeremiah Brown of Anderson, SC
and Neil Morris and wife Nicole, Amy Morris,
and Chris Morris, all of Kings Mountain.
Great-grandchildren in attendance were,
Sydney Morris, Evey Morris and Jamie
McGinnis, all of Kings Mountain.
Nancy and Charles Scism, long time family
friends who were married by Rev. Brown,
catered the party.
