The Kings Mountain Herald Page 3B KM Class of ‘47 holds 54th reunion Nineteen members of the Kings Mountain High School Class of 1947 and their spouses gathered at the Ramada Inn re- cently for their 54th year re- union. Robert Neill, committee chairman, presided and opened with a welcome to all class members and their spouses. The invocation was given by Oliver Tate, assistant organizer, followed by a few minutes of meditation honoring the 22 de- ceased members of the class. The group enjoyed a buffet and fellowship, sharing their achievements, interests and news about their families. Many stories of experiences in high school were remembered. Other committee members were Helen Tate, Betty Neill and Beth Baker. Saturday worship set at Resurrection A special Saturday night wor- ship service is held every - Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 600 Crescent Circle, Kings Mountain: The informal service is held in the church fellowship hall and is an excellent alternate worship opportunity for those who are traveling or are unable to attend Sunday worship ser- vices. Traditional and contempo- rary hymns and songs are in- cluded in the service. Take your Bible. The church is located four blocks south of King Street (Business 74). Turn on Tracy Street, just behind Bridges Hardware. MORGAN BARRETT Morgan Barrett Open forum July S at KM arts center An open forum will be held July 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center of Kings Mountain (former Joy Theatre). The purpose of the meeting is to brainstorm about the possi- ble uses of the facility. - Jim Champion, president of the Kings Mountain Little Theatre, said public input is needed for suggestions on the uses as well as structural changes to the facility. KMLT recently purchased the theatre from the Gospel Assembly of Kings Mountain and plans to present all of its fu- ture plays there. The building will also be available for use by? . other local organizations. celebrates birthday E Talia Gangoo on Furman dean's list Morgan Alexander Barrett, son of David and Carol Barrett of Weaverville, was four years old June 5. He celebrated June 9 with a NASCAR pool party at the home of his uncle and aunt, Randy and Cheryl Butler of Kings Mountain. Other family members and friends attended. Grandparents are J.D. and Arlene Barrett of Kings Mountain, Evelyn Poston of Eden, Carol Fleming of Greensboro, and the late Robert T. Fleming. Great-grandmother is Daisy Queen of Kings Mountain. Dr. and Mrs. Abdul R. Gangoo of Kings Mountain, made the Furman University. To make the list one must earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system.
