ter 40 years and was the
Production Manager for the
Southeast Region. He was
awarded the Jefferson Cup
Award from Martin Marietta.
He served in the United States
Army.
He is survived by his wife,

Blacksburg
man dies
in wreck
A Blacksburg, S.C. man died
Friday after a truck struck his
motorcycle at the intersection of
Highway 216 and Bethlehem
Road, south of Kings Mountain.
Robert Michael Hinson, who
was driving a vehicle for C & C
Scrap Iron and Metal, was
charged with a yield violation
and misdemeanor death by mo-
tor vehicle, after his truck hit
the motorcycle driven by Roger
Dean Griffin.
Hinson was traveling east on
Bethlehem Road when he pro-
ceeded from the stop sign and
failed to see the motorcycle
driven by Griffin, and soon af-
ter Hinson struck the vehicle,
according to a highway patrol
report.
First Sergeant David Allen
said the collision sent Griffins
motorcycle off the right side of
the road, where it struck a steel
rail near a gas meter.

which he died.
No alcohol or drug use was
suspected in the fatality.

Dr. Shawn Pallotti will at-
tempt to break the one-hour
world record of crunches (sit-
ups) Friday, July 27 at 7 a.m. at
his office at Total Health Center,

The world record is 3,600 in
an hour. He will attempt to do
4,500.
Representatives of the
Guinness Book of World
Records have been notified of
the attempt. At least two people
must witness it for him to quali-
fy for the record.
