A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Huey and Jennie Hester Pressley and wife of the late James Dickerson. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Huey Jr. and Heath Pressley; sisters, Essie Underdown, Alva Jo Carver and Gladys Pressley; and three great grandchildren. She was a member of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Melvin Dickerson of Kings Mountain and David Martin Dickerson of Washington; daughters, Brenda Barrett of Carolina Beach and Janice Bayless and Shirley Hughes of Kings Mountain; brother, J.B. Pressley of Mt. Holly; sisters, Margie Jones of Stanley and Barbara Rogers of Shelby; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grand- children, and one great-grand- child.
