the GlaxoSmithKline Child
Heath Recognition Award.
The seventh annual award
in conjunction with the Senior
Center, will make their annual
mountain trip. They continue to
make lap robes for the elderly,
and donated quilts to the Abuse
Shelter.

which is an integral part of the
department's focus on preven-
tive health services. Programs
include expanded dental ser-
vices to indigent children and
those covered by Medicaid, and
providing a child care health
consultant to work with li-
censed and regulated child care
centers and family care homes.
The award carries monetary
grants to use for special pro-
jects, staff development, an edu-
cational materials. Scholarship
awards are also made to the
North Carolina Public Health
Association in the name of the
individual recognition awards

first time in this year’s
Philadelphia Museum of Art
Craft Show, one of the most
prestigious and oldest craft
shows in the United States.
The show is being held
November 8-11 at the
Pennsylvania Convention
Center in Philadelphia. Nielsen
was selected as one of 195 ex-
hibitors out of over 1,500 appli-
cants nationwide.
