Rep. in Denver, CO, Management Consultant for the United Postal Service teaching manage- ment and problem solving. He was author of a book on Management for Supervisors . and Managers (1965), and he wrote a 40-hour seminar on Management and Problem Solving (1993). He was certified to teach in North Carolina high schools. ' He'was former chairman of the United Way for local, state and federal employees, was former chairman of fund raising for Bessemer City Statue of Liberty, was a life member of American Legion Post #243, was a mem- ber of the Air Force Association, Air Force Sergeants Association, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, was former Vice President of the Air Force Association for seven Western NC counties, was Public Relations Chairman: for the NC Association of Register of Deeds, and was an author of a 400-page novel about “Life in the United States Air Force.” He is survived by his wife, Margie P. Murray Todd of Kings Mountain; and sister, Ethel Harrison of Gastonia. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Randy Harry and Eugene Land at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Bessemer Hamrick. She is survived by nieces and nephews. A native of Grover, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Blanton Herndon and Alice Lorena Bookout Herndon. She was the wife of the late James Edgar Kirk. She was also pre- ceded in death by her brother, E.B. Herndon Jr. She was a homemaker and previously worked as dorm counselor at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta and - Columbia College in Columbia, SC. She was also a social work- er for North Carolina and a so- cial worker in the Woman's IL. She was .a member of, Good Shepherd Lutheran in Columbia where she was a member of the Sarah Circle.
