A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late George Robert and Dixie Jenkins. He was the husband of the late Bynum Rush Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mabel Wilkinson. He was a member of-Central United Methodist Church. He was retired from the textile in- dustry.
