KINGS MOUNTAIN - Andrew Thomas DeBruler, 75, 307 Fulton Drive, died January 6, 2002 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Andrew Thomas DeBruler Sr. and Bertha Tatum DeBruler. He was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church, and was retired after 26 years with Young Brothers Furniture, Shelby. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Betty Stone DeBruler of Kings Mountain; daughter, Sarah Bradley of Grover; sons, Andy DeBruler of Charlotte, Rick DeBruler of Grover, and Doug DeBruler and wife Robin of Shelby; brothers, Roy DeBruler and Carl DeBruler of Burlington; sisters, Thelma Stephens of Reidsville and Pauline Thompson of Burlington; and five grandchil- dren, Stephanie Lail, Andrea Lail, Ashley DeBruler, Mark DeBruler and Jonathon DeBruler. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Bruce Hobson and Vernon Moore at 11 a.m. Wednesday at El Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. A native of : Cleveland County, she was the daughter of : the late Arnold Buford and Madge Melton Philbeck and wife of the late Charles Edmond Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her son, Doyle Edmond Sanders, and brothers, SANDERS J.C. Philbeck and Buford Philbeck. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. She is survived by her daugh- ters, Doris S. Lail and husband Wayne of Kings Mountain, and Juanita Dianne Malcolm and husband Eddie of Blacksburg, SC; brothers, Jim Philbeck of Grover, Gene Philbeck of Shelby, and G.C. Philbeck of Cherryville; a sister, Gertrude Knox of Grover; and three grandchildren, Charles Lail, Chris Lail, and Chastity Thompson. She was the daughter of the late Roy Phillips and Neva Willis Phillips and wife of the late Floyd J. Helms. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Helms; sisters, Betty Lefevers and Beulah Mitchell; and brothers, Tom Phillips, Howard Phillips and Bill Phillips. She was a member of Family Worship Center Church of God and was active at the Kings Mountain Senior Center. She was a homemaker. He joined Kings Mountain Mica and English Mica Company as Executive Vice- President over Sales and pro- duction Coordination in 1973, and retired in 1978.
